Dear St. Michael-St. Gabriel Families and Friends,
Next week is a very short week, as we only have school on Monday and Tuesday, but nonetheless, it is one in which we should slow down and call to mind the many blessings we have in our lives. We were reminded of that last week when we celebrated our Grandparents/Grandfriends days with so many family members in attendance. To see the smiles on both the faces of our students and their families reminded us of what life is truly about, which is enjoying the moments we have with one another. As we gather next week with our loved ones, let us take a moment to thank our Lord for the many blessings we have in our lives.
On Monday, students with a November birthday may bring in a small treat to share with their students, and they may also dress down. Additionally, our school office will be open on Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., but we will be closed the remainder of the week for our Thanksgiving Break.
Finally, on Monday, December 2nd, we will be distributing final exam cards to all Junior High students whose accounts are up-to-date. Students will need these cards in order to take their final exams beginning the week of December 16th, so please be sure all accounts are in good standing. Final exams count for 20% of our students’ final semester grade, so it is important that they take the time to complete their study guides and attend their study tables so that they are prepared for these exams.

Queridos Padres y Amigos de San Miguel-San Gabriel,
La semana que viene será muy corta, ya que solo tendremos clases el lunes y martes, pero, no obstante, es una semana en la que debemos reducir la velocidad y recordar las muchas bendiciones que tenemos en nuestras vidas. Recordamos eso la semana pasada cuando celebramos el día de nuestros abuelos/grandes amigos con tantos miembros de la familia presentes. Ver las sonrisas en los rostros de nuestros estudiantes y sus familias nos recordó de qué se trata realmente la vida, que es disfrutar de los momentos que tenemos juntos. Al reunirnos la semana que viene con nuestros seres queridos, tomémonos un momento para agradecer a nuestro Señor por las muchas bendiciones que tenemos en nuestras vidas.
El lunes, los estudiantes que cumplen años en noviembre pueden traer un pequeño obsequio para compartir con los estudiantes, y también pueden vestirse de manera informal. Además, la oficina de la escuela estará abierta el miércoles de 8:30 a.m. a 1:30 p.m., pero estaremos cerrados el resto de la semana por las vacaciones de Acción de Gracias.
Finalmente, el lunes 2 de diciembre, distribuiremos las tarjetas de exámenes finales a todos los estudiantes de secundaria cuyas cuentas estén al día. Los estudiantes necesitaran estas tarjetas para tomar sus exámenes finales a partir de la semana del 16 de diciembre, así que asegúrese de que todas las cuentas estén al día. Además, todos los estudiantes de secundaria deben haber recibido una copia de las mesas de estudio para los exámenes finales. Parishioners and School Families took to heart last weekend’s mass hymn " The Lord Hears the Cry of the Poor" with overwhelming generosity to our yearly parish food drive. Over a ton of canned and boxed food items were provided by our parish and school families. The SVDP representative was astounded by the size of our parish donation. SVDP is taking immediate steps to make our donation available to the over 4000 individuals in need who visit the pantry weekly. Thanks to all those who made financial contributions to the Food Pantry and thanks to all who provided canned and boxed food. QUARTER-ZIP SWEATSHIRTS FOR SALE
We have gray and red quarter-zip sweatshirts available for our Junior High students. These may be worn on regular school days, not just spirit wear days. The cost is $30 per sweatshirt, and students may purchase these from the main office. We have a limited stock right now, but we will purchase more, if we sell out. All sizes are adult sizes.

8th Grade Trash Bag Sales
It’s that time of year when we know many of you are beginning to bag up your leaves and clean out your gardens. If you are interested in purchasing trash bags from the school office, we are selling rolls for $11 a piece. All proceeds go to fund the eighth grade class trip. An initial order form was sent home with all students this week, if you are interested in purchasing any. We do sell these bags throughout the year as well, so you may consider purchasing some in the spring as well.
