2023-2024 School Year Calendar

Dear St. Michael-St. Gabriel Families and Friends, 

We want to thank all of our parents who came to our conferences this week. If you were unable to attend on one of these days, please reach out to your child’s homeroom teacher to see if a meeting may be needed. We hope you were able to work with your child’s teacher to create a plan for continued success this year. 

Beginning Band will start on Monday, September 18th. Students are reminded to bring their instruments with them to school. When practice is over, students will be picked up at Cardinal Ritter. 

Next Tuesday is our West Deanery Unified Catholic Schools (WDUCS) 8th Grade Retreat. Students will participate in activities to help deepen their faith with other eighth graders from Cardinal Ritter and St. Anthony School, as they learn more about leadership and charity. The retreat will be led by Cardinal Ritter’s campus minister, Samantha Smith. 

Next Wednesday is our next Walk-A-Thon dress down day. For $2, students may dress as a twin with another student. Remember that any money brought in on these dress down Wednesdays will count toward each student’s individual Walk-A-Thon amount. This is an easy way for students to each do his or her part to support our only school-wide fundraiser for the year.

Queridos Padres y Amigos de San Miguel-San Gabriel,

Queremos agradecer a todos los padres que vinieron a las conferencias esta semana. Si usted no pudo asistir cualquiera de estos días, por favor contacte al maestro de clase de su hijo o hijos para saber si es necesario hacer una conferencia. Deseamos que haya sido posible crear un plan con el maestro de sus hijos para tener un año exitoso.

La banda para principiantes inicia el Lunes 18 de Septiembre. Se recuerda a los estudiantes que traigan sus instrumentos a la escuela. Cuando termine la práctica, los estudiantes serán recogidos en Cardinal Ritter.

El próximo martes es nuestro retiro de Octavo grado de las Escuelas Católicas Unificadas del Decanato del Oeste (WDUCS). Los estudiantes participaran en actividades para ayudar a profundizar su fe con otros estudiantes de Octavo grado de las escuelas Cardinal Ritter y San Antonio, mientras aprenden más sobre liderazgo y caridad. El retiro será dirigido por la ministra Universitaria de Cardinal Ritter, Samantha Smith.

El próximo Miércoles será nuestro próximo día de vestimenta informal para el Marathon. Por $2 los estudiantes pueden vestirse como gemelos con otro estudiante. Recuerde que cualquier dinero recaudado en estos miércoles de vestimenta informal contará para el monto individual del Marathon de cada estudiante. Esta es una manera fácil para que los estudiantes hagan su parte para apoyar nuestra única recaudación de fondos para toda la escuela del año.

2023-2024 Study Tables & Tutoring Times

Parent Volunteer Hours and Safe Parish Information 

All families are required to complete five volunteer hours during the course of the year. There are many ways to complete these hours by attending parent meetings and conferences, but additional opportunities will be made available at our Back to School Bash in August before school begins. Remember that anyone who chooses to volunteer for an event where children are present must be Safe Parish trained. We recommend working on that training during the summer so that you may be ready to help when you would like to chaperone or volunteer for an event. You can reach the Safe Parish site at https://www.archindysafeparish.org/. The passcode is Archindy2021.

Horas Voluntarias para los Padres y Información

Se requiere que todas las familias completen 5 horas de voluntariado durante el transcurso del año. Hay muchas formas de completar estas horas asistiendo a las conferencias de padres de familia, pero adicionales oportunidades estarán disponibles en nuestro evento de Regreso a Escuela en Agosto antes de que la escuela inicie. Recuerde que cualquier persona que elija ser voluntaria para un evento en el que haya niños presentes deben de tener el entrenamiento de Parroquia Segura. Se les recomienda trabajar en el entrenamiento durante el verano para que ustedes estén listos para ayudar cuando deseen ser chaperones o voluntarios de algún evento. Aftercare Workers Needed

St. Michael-St. Gabriel is in need of aftercare workers for this coming academic year. General working hours run from 2:45-5:30 p.m. on regular dismissal days and 1:30-5:30 p.m. on early dismissal days when aftercare is made available. If you are interested in learning more about this paid position, please contact Mrs. Ramos at lramos@indyarchangel.org.

Necesitamos trabajadores para el cuidado posterior 

San Miguel-San Gabriel necesita trabajadores para el cuidado posterior para el proximo ano academico. Las horas de trabajo general son de 2:45-5:30 p.m. en salidas regulares y 1:30-5:30 p.m. los días de salida temprano cuando el cuidado posterior es disponible. Volunteers Needed to Help With 

Morning Drop-off and Afternoon Dismissal 

As many of our morning and afternoon volunteers have moved on with their children who have now graduated St. Michael-St. Gabriel, we are in need of volunteers to assist with our morning drop-off, as well as our afternoon dismissal for this coming academic year. Help is needed in the morning from 7:15-7:45 a.m. and again at dismissal from 2:00-2:45 p.m. If you are interested in learning more about either of these, please contact Mrs. Ramos at lramos@indyarchangel.org.

Como muchos de nuestros voluntarios de las mañanas y las tardes se han ido con sus hijos que se graduaron de San Miguel-San Gabriel, necesitamos voluntarios para ayudar en la entrada en las mañanas, al igual que en las salidas de la tarde para el próximo año académico.
