Dear St. Michael-St. Gabriel Families and Friends,
As a reminder students are required to be in the proper school uniform, which includes SMSG logoed tops and bottoms. The only items that do not have a logo are the plaid skirts and jumpers. Now that we are seven weeks into the school year, teachers have been asked to send home warning letters for any student who is not in compliance with the school dress code. After a warning letter is given, then a student will receive a detention for not adhering to the problem uniform code if this is not fixed. If you are still waiting on an item, please communicate that with the school office, but most items have already been shipped out to families.
We are two weeks away from our annual Walk-A-Thon, and we still have quite a way to go. As a school, we have not reached any of our incentive goals, which includes our extra recess, a week of no homework, and our dress down week. We know these are things that our students look forward to, but we cannot award these without reaching our goals. Remember that our Walk-A-Thon provides the activities and opportunities that our PTA would like to do throughout the year, such as our Christmas Feast and our Field Days at the end of the year. Please talk with your child and see how he or she can help us reach our goals. Our next Walk-A-Thon dress down day is Wednesday, October 2nd. For $2 students may dress in their favorite team shirt with appropriate shorts, jeans, or sweatpants.
Lastly, as we begin the month of October, our focus will be on our Blessed Mother and the praying of the rosary. Our entire school will participate in the Living Rosary next Friday, October 4th, at 8:15 a.m. in St. Michael Church. This is such a beautiful experience for our community. All are welcome to join us.
God Bless,
Mrs. Ramos
