SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS NEEDED

Sunday School will start next Sunday, September 11 during the 10:30am worship service. There is a need for teachers for two classes — one for children 5 to 10 and the second for children older than 10 and above.

Expected service time is 30-40 minutes every two months. If you are a teacher or aspiring Christian formation leader looking to teach or know the youth better, please consider this opportunity.

Please contact Isom Herron at iherron321@gmail.com or Fr. Winston at rector@stmichaelstonemountain.org if you are interested and for further information.

SMAA Mini-Library

St. Michael's free Lending Library is located in the Hensler Hall parking lot.

“Take a book. . . leave a book” is the idea.

This is a collective project by Community Outreach and the Boy and Girls Scouts with the goal of inviting our friends and neighbors to read more.

Suggestions for reading materials can be found at littlefreelibrary.org. Enjoy!

Reflection on the Congregational Development Conference

After attending the Conference, Father Winston reminds us of the importance of youth Christian formation and the work that has been done by the Christian Formation Committee to provide Sunday School at St. Michael's.

He emphasizes that we come together and strengthen our inreach and congregational enrichment alongside outreach and community engagement efforts, most especially by supporting the youth of the Church.

Father Winston vows to encourage those members of the church who possess gifts and experience to aid in the ministry of the Sunday School program, and also welcomes anyone who would like to take it upon themself to do so as well.

He concludes affirming that "We cannot allow our youth to not have a deep understanding and a working knowledge of the love of God in their lives. God charges us with that responsibility both collectively and individually. Now it is time to affirm God's invitation."

Flower Donations

As the year comes to a close, St. Michael's is looking for more sponsors and donors to enrich the flower ministry. Flowers may be donated in dedication to someone, to commemorate a celebration, and much more.

If you are interested in donating flowers, there is a sign-up sheet in the narthex. Donations addressed to the flower guild can be placed in the offering plate (please be sure to include what you are commemorating). Donations can also be made online via Realm, or you can leave a check in the church office.

For more details, please contact Bobbie Unger by calling 404-291-3822.
