Called Into Something More

Dear St. Michael’s Family,

In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus moves toward ordinary people during a time when the world feels unsettled and uncertain. His message is not one of shame, but an invitation to "repent"—to turn toward "something more". As a parish, we must ask ourselves: what is the "something more" God is calling us into now?

We look back on 2025 with immense gratitude. It was a year of remarkable growth where:

  • Our ministries expanded across the community.
  • New members found a spiritual home within our walls.
  • Our collective witness and service grew stronger.
  • Both God and our congregation remained steadfast and faithful.

When Jesus called the fishermen by the Sea of Galilee, they dropped their nets—not because the nets were bad, but because the life Jesus offered was bigger than what those nets could hold. Similarly, God is not finished with St. Michael’s. Faithfulness sometimes requires us to let go of what once worked so we can receive what God is doing in the present.

Our mission is not merely to maintain our current path, but to follow, trusting that God is leading us into deeper love and a wider impact.

I invite you to join us this Sunday as we listen for where God is leading us next. We will gather to celebrate our shared life and look toward the "something more" God has in store for 2026 and beyond.

  • When: This Sunday, January 25
  • Time: Immediately following the 10:15 AM service

Jesus is still calling, and the invitation remains: "Come. Follow me."

In Christ's Love,

2026 VESTRY NOMINEES

Anna McPherson

Anna Soike McPherson grew up in Johnson City, Tennessee, earned her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University, and later completed her MBA at Rollins College. She is married to Trey McPherson, a lifelong member of St. Michael’s, and together they have three children: Andrew (12), Elise (8), and John (6).

Having experienced the full spectrum of Christianity: baptized Lutheran, confirmed Methodist, and educated in Catholic school through eighth grade, Anna has found herself very much at home at St. Michael’s Church for the past 22 years. She has served on the Flower Guild for over 20 years and has attended nearly every service time along the way, from the 10:15 service before children, to the 7:45 service with little ones, and now the 9:00 a.m. service, which she and Trey enjoy attending with their children.

When she’s not volunteering for school activities, shuttling kids around town, catching up on laundry, or arranging flowers, Anna can usually be found attempting to play tennis at a very beginner level. She and Trey love traveling with their children and can often be found cheering them on from the sidelines - front row seats always reserved - for lacrosse, archery, soccer, and whatever sport is up next.

Jenn Mandelion Chrisman

Jenn Mandelion Chrisman is grateful to serve on the Vestry at St. Michael’s, a church she and her family have proudly called home since moving to College Park in 2011. Raised in the Catholic Church in South Florida, Jenn wandered as a young adult before she and her husband, Eric, began searching for a faith community together after meeting in 2006. That search led them to St. Michael’s, where their son Jackson was baptized in 2013 and joined the 2022 Communion Class—confirming that this truly is home.

By day (and often by night), Jenn serves as Vice President of Project Management for Paramount Experiences, overseeing projects around the world and helping bring Nickelodeon parks and resorts to life for families everywhere. When she’s not working, she enjoys traveling, cheering on Gator football, volunteering with Jackson’s school and Scout Troop 200, and spending time with family, friends, neighbors—and their 80-pound “tiny pony,” Annie the Newfiedoodle. Jenn lives in deep gratitude and is honored to support the life and mission of St. Michael’s.

Kirsten Leger

Kirsten Leger was born and raised in Orlando, FL, and has gone to St. Michael’s since she was born. Growing up, Kirsten was in the choir and then served as an acolyte and chalice bearer. She went to the University of Florida for undergraduate school and then Stetson Law School, which is where she met her husband, Christian Leger. They were married at St. Michael’s in 2015. Kirsten and Christian have two boys, Ford (8) and Foster (6), and a French Bulldog named Bertie. Kirsten is an Assistant State Attorney, dealing mostly with felony domestic violence cases.

Kirsten enjoys traveling and spending time with her family at the beach and in North Carolina. She also loves to play tennis and spend time with friends.

Sam Provencher

Sam Provencher has deep roots in College Park and the St. Michael's community. He grew up just two blocks away from our church, where his parents and longtime St. Michael's members Jim & Cindy still reside. He graduated from Edgewater High School before attending Florida State University where he earned degrees in Finance and Economics. He later returned to Orlando for his professional career and has spent his past 10 years at Genius Sports, where he is a director of data partnerships for the NCAA and other sports leagues. Sam and his wife Anna met shortly after moving to Orlando and have been married for 11 years. Today they live in Rose Isle with their two children Sara Kate (8) and Will (6) who were both baptized at St. Michael’s and are in elementary school at the Christ School downtown.

Stephanie Dickinson

Stephanie Fletcher Dickinson grew up attending Episcopal churches in New York. She had all the fun of a young Episcopalian - participating in Choir, Sunday School, and Church Camps. She left NY to attend College at Northwestern University where she got a degree in Education and Social Policy with a concentration in Psychological Services. While at school she was the manager of the 5 story student union. After graduation, she worked in payroll and then taught parent-child music classes and violin lessons using the Suzuki Method. She also pursued a solo career as a singer-songwriter and a duo career with her husband, Vince Dickinson, to whom she has been married for 26 years.

Vince’s work brought her here to sunny Orlando, FL, which Stephanie loves because of the beautiful weather. Jogging is a regular hobby that she enjoys with her husband and their 17 year old son, Victor. In Orlando, Stephanie taught violin and parent-child music at the Community School of Music of Rollins College and she played violin and guitar at Walt Disney World’s EPCOT in the Norwegian band as a full-time member. She is currently on hiatus from teaching and performing to have the pleasure of homeschooling Victor. Stephanie hopes to help St. Michaels be the light that it’s members need and to support the work of the church.

January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month

Our partners at Samaritan Village are opening a new rapid response emergency shelter here in Central Florida. Women coming out of this situation often have nowhere safe to go. This house will increase the amount of emergency beds by 150%.
