Dear St. Michael’s family,

Advent has come again—quietly, beautifully—like a small light rising in the dark. These weeks invite us to wait with hope, walk in peace, open ourselves to joy, and root our lives in love. And as I look around our church right now, I see those four gifts taking flesh in you.

Hope shows up every time we welcome someone new—someone searching for a spiritual home or wondering if God still has room for them. Many are finding that home here at St. Michael’s. Hope is not an idea; it’s an embrace, a community that says, “You belong.”

Peace is visible in the steady, quiet ways you care for one another—meals delivered, prayers offered, conversations shared. In a world that often feels unsettled, your presence creates a holy calm where people can breathe again.

Joy is overflowing in our Gospel Family Service. Children singing, parents exhaling, visitors feeling safe enough to smile and return. That service—and our entire parish—is becoming a place where people rediscover the joy of worship, not through pressure or performance, but through grace.

And love… love is everywhere. It’s in your generosity, your hospitality, and your willingness to reach beyond our walls into the community. God is using this church family to bless Orlando in ways seen and unseen.

I want to say from the bottom of my heart: thank you. Thank you for your faithfulness, your openness, and the many ways you say “yes” to God’s work among us.

My prayer for you this season is simple: May hope steady your heart, peace quiet your fears, joy surprise you, and love lead you home.

With deep gratitude and love,

A Year-End Giving Reminder from Joan Myers,

Angel Tree is Here!

Greetings St Michael's!

This year we are working with three schools in OCPS to bring Christmas cheer to those in College Park and greater Orlando that may be facing a difficult holiday season!

We are working with students from Lake Silver Elementary, Expecting Excellence, and Great Oaks Village.

You may already know that we partner with Lake Silver Elementary to provide food to students in need. We also work with them to provide gifts for students that are unhoused, living with relatives or in extended stay situations.

Expecting Excellence (Formerly the Beta Center) is a program that helps pregnant and teen moms (Ages 11-19) stay in a specialized educational environment and

earn their high school diploma. We are coming alongside them and their little ones to provide some encouragement this Christmas. There are 14 moms and their babies range from 3 to 25 months.

The Village School serves students in sheltered residence under Orange County Youth and Family Services. This school provides academic curriculum to students (6-18) that are temporarily placed due to unforeseen circumstances. (these are kids that are often in a period of transition, having been removed from a dangerous situation, and before being placed in a new foster home.) They have all requested fun socks and hoodies. If anyone would like to partner specifically for these 16 kids, please let me know.

Unwrapped gifts should be dropped off at the St. Michael's Office by December 14th to allow PTA volunteers to wrap and distribute the gits before the Christmas Holiday. This will also give us time to shop for anyone if need be.

Please include the Student # with your items when you drop them off. If you are able to include wrapping paper or gift bags, it would be appreciated!

If you would like to participate, but don't have time to shop, you can donate gift cards or a check to the front office and make sure they are marked "Angel Tree." We will take care of the rest!
