ONLINE WORSHIP
USHERS ARE STILL  NEEDED FOR BOTH THE 7:45 & 10:15 AM SERVICES!

Greetings St. Michael's! We are looking for a few good Ushers to help during our morning services.  We have detailed instructions on placing bulletins, seating, cleaning and encouraging adherence to safety protocols.

If you are interested, please email Mike@stmichaelschurch.com for additional information.

A note on our schools: As you all know Orange County Public Schools are in a state of flux in terms of staffing and a date for returning to school, whatever that may look like. That being said, we know that kids will still need supplies, still need food and still need prayer and encouragement. Look for an announcement this week regarding supply drives and ways we can support our teachers and staff in our partner schools. You can always turn Target and Publix gift cards in to the office to support our ministries in the schools.

However, if you just can't wait to buy School Supplies, our friends at Harbor House are preparing for the new school year.

There are 3 ways for you to give to the  Harbor House Back to School Campaign:

BUY & DONATE SUPPLIES
Check out the list of needed items above, go shopping, then drop off your donations at the address shown.

SHOP OUR AMAZON WISH LIST
Follow  this link to order from Amazon and have backpacks, school supplies, and snacks for the kids shipped directly to Harbor House.

MAKE A MONETARY DONATION
No time to shop? You can  donate here , and your gift will be put to use where it is needed most.

Harbor House has remained open and busy during this time of quarantine and social distancing. Our Youth & Children's Services staff expanded services when distance learning was mandated during the last school year to include assistance with school for K-12 students living in our emergency shelter. We will continue to offer options for students that choose online learning in the upcoming school year.

Latest News:
So many of you have reached out to me regarding the family we are helping get into a secure housing situation.
Folks have been generously offering furniture and other supplies for every day living. Y'all are so great!

The family is still in an extended stay hotel pending their section 8 review for housing assistance. I reached out to them regarding current needs and the mom stated that they do have some things, however their storage unit had gotten water damaged and they weren't sure what was useable and what wasn't.  When we have a better idea exactly what is needed I will post updates here and on our facebook page.

Thank you for all you do to be the hands and feet of Jesus in this world.

God Bless, Stay Safe and Stay Healthy!
Mike Robertson

WHEN TO PICK- UP COMMUNION:
  • THURSDAY JULY 30 & FRIDAY, JULY 31
  • 9AM to 5PM
  • CHURCH OFFICE
HOW TO STORE COMMUNION PRIOR TO SUNDAY
You should store the sacrament in a respectful place in your home, perhaps placing it in a vessel and then putting it in protected place. Prior to participating in the online worship service Sunday, place the sacrament on a table. Be sure to create a reverent environment perhaps lighting a candle. During the service at the appropriate time during the Great Thanksgiving, you can receive the sacrament and share it with those in your home who are participating with you. Please consume all the elements.

FLOWER SPONSORSHIP AT ST. MICHAEL'S

The flowers that adorn the altar every Sunday are given to the glory of God and as an offering of worship! We invite you to join in sponsoring the flowers each week in memoriam or thanksgiving for family, friends and occasions. This is a beautiful and vital ministry as we worship God through His  creation!

To sponsor flowers during this season email ashleigh@stmichaelschurch.com. Please include your desired date/dates and the wording of your memorial/sponsorship exactly as you would like it to appear in the bulletin. Send this in by the Sunday prior to the desired date so that we can ensure that it is included in the next Sunday's bulletin.

MUSIC DEPARTMENT

Sunday, August 2, 6:30 PM  Join us for 15-20 mins of "Songs & Prayers Time" this Sunday for our young ones!  We always start with "The Lord's Prayer", close with a sung rendition of "Good Night Moon" that Andrew wrote - including an evening prayer woven in at the end, and 4-6 other beloved songs from our Angels Choir repertoire!

THE 9th SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST
Jesus feeds the five thousand with five loaves and two fish - though, as someone pointed out in a sermon I once heard: that was just the men!!  In the passage from Matthew we will hear, Matthew adds ".....besides women and children."  Might have been 10,000!  Once they had all eaten and were filled "...they took up what was left over of the broken pieces, twelve baskets full."
