Today, Southern California born & raised Mexican/Colombian artist, producer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist St. Panther released a playfully earnest instant classic, “OUT ON THE CORNER,” the latest installment of their upcoming debut record East Side Love Story, set for release on November 20, 2026 via the art-forward label drink sum wtr.

Also known as Dani Bojorges-Giraldo (they/them), St. Panther has always had a distinctly genreless and incredibly versatile sound. When it came time for their first full-length project, St. Panther slowed down and looked around their endeared neighborhood, Shazaming sounds from boomboxes and investigating their beloved cat’s neighborhood affairs. The result is a catalyst for their modern, undeniably Latino sound, fusing inspirations from Chicano soul, Motown classics, G-funk anthems, oldies from the streets of Los Angeles and much more.

Channeling the romantic spirit of Billy Stewart’s lowrider classic “Sitting in the Park Waiting for You,” “OUT ON THE CORNER” finds St. Panther detailing the complicated and fleeting nature of modern romance with a sweet earnestness as their lullaby-like vocal dresses the lighthearted ballad among the lively keys and fills. This single follows the release of “EAST SIDE GIRL,” the album’s romantic R&B opener. Both tracks capture the timeless and charming nature of Los Angeles by highlighting the city’s unique warmth and romance.

St. Panther remarked on the making of “OUT ON THE CORNER” - “I was pacing around my apartment singing the ‘oo's’ and quickly picked up my Cordoba to try and sound out the chords. That demo was like an ear worm, it lent all the space for a Motown approach but we still needed a modern touch. After reworking it with Chris (McClenney) I called in Brian Gazo to track some "oo's" on top of mine. There's these isolated moments that crack a whole album open, hearing Brian's first takes was exactly that. By the end of that session his vocals were on four songs on the album.”

They continued: “What was important to me was capturing this particular moment in time on a record. I think we'll look back on records like this and be able to appreciate that from Boyle Heights to Long Beach we were a movement of brown artists, the next generation of the music we grew up loving. To be able to have him across the album felt just right, like a family photo that will be passed down for generations.”

PRESAVE EAST SIDE LOVE STORY

Last year saw the release of St. Panther’s second EP, Strange World, which received wide praises from tastemakers from NPR Music, Bandcamp Daily, Remezcla, FLOOD Magazine, and so many more. A defiant, genre-transforming body of work celebrating love and community, Strange World narrated and confronted the wider climate of uncertainty and apathy. After spending years refining their craft, observing and examining the ever-changing world, it is now clearer than ever: St. Panther is ready to dial it back and tell their own story.

BIO

St. Panther delivers East Side Love Story, an effervescent, soulful set of love songs dedicated to the place they call home. The recording project of Mexican/Colombian artist, producer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Dani Bojorges-Giraldo (they/them) has developed over the past six years within the walls of their East Los Angeles apartment. Friends, lovers, sounds, and songs, the essence of the East Side pours through the windows as an endless stream of distinctly Latino taste. Chicano soul, Motown classics, G-funk anthems, and other feel-good oldies fill the air with warmth and romance. Everything imbues East Side Love Story, St. Panther’s full-length debut filled with timeless melodies and swaggering charm, arriving in 2026 on the art-forward label drink sum wtr.

Coloring their craft with the surrounding culture, East Side Love Story captures a chapter in Bojorges-Giraldo’s life defined by freedom and love. Reuniting with co-producer McClenney (H.E.R., Khalid, Jamila Woods), they see the record as a culmination: “I've been able to apply my influences and build a world around what my signature is, pulling the best of my performances and musicality, figuring out the place that I want it all to sit.”

Work began subconsciously when they started Shazamming songs that neighbors were playing each day, populating a playlist they playfully titled East Side Love Story, a nod to their cat’s bustling social life. “She's a stray, literally got her from my neighborhood outside. She has a roster of boyfriends who come to visit her at the door and window. Pretty soon, my life started mirroring hers,” explains Bojorges-Giraldo. East Side Love Story traces seasons of relationships, from the ecstasy of newness to the pitfalls of monogamy, the distance between one another on respective paths, and an evolving understanding of love in its totality.

Bojorges-Giraldo’s been honing this sound across two EPs, 2020’s These Days and 2025’s Strange World, with an “innate ability to translate their inner world into deeply relatable R&B gems,” writes Bandcamp. Their songs can move between R&B, soul, jazz, hip-hop, or alt-pop; a patchwork threaded by an ear for inventive, inviting production and an unmistakable voice. Whether raspy or silky, crooning or rapping, that drawl contains pure charisma, joy, and grit. Their ability to tap into life’s vibrance as much as its pain places them within a rarified throughline of expressive pop greats from Wonder to Winehouse. They’ve always been drawn to the enduring qualities of pop past. “I think about something being played on a record player, what kind of experience it’s going to be listening-wise,” they continue. “Musically, I wanted to create a space that is even more so, diving into my influences, but also trying to modernize them and have a current perspective on them.”
