Upcoming Events & News

Discretionary Fund: This Sunday the loose plate offering (gifts not designated for pledges, building, etc.) will be deposited into the Rector’s Discretionary Fund. Fr. Jim uses this fund to assist people who come to our church in need of help, to purchase items for the Community Meals as needed, and to support charitable causes.

Office Closed: Katie will be out of the office Monday through Wednesday. The office will be closed Monday but will resume normal hours Tuesday and Wednesday. Katie will return to work Thursday.

Vigil at St. Paul’s for the Victims of the Robb Elementary Shooting: The local chapter of Moms Demand Action, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, and First United Methodist Church invite you to a prayer vigil on June 7th at 7:00 p.m. to memorialize our country’s most recent victims of gun violence. The ceremony will take place on the front lawn at St. Paul’s. Moms Demand Action is a grassroots movement of Americans fighting for public safety measures that can protect people from gun violence. This group believes that gun violence is preventable, and they are committed to do what it takes to keep families safe. They also work in our communities and with business leaders to encourage a culture of responsible gun ownership.

Safety & Security: This past Sunday during the 10:30 service we had a visitor enter the church through the 5th Street entrance, come up the steps and enter through the sacristy walking by the altar. He continued past the choir and eventually sat down. He left after the peace. There was no indication there was cause for alarm, but it was concerning, nonetheless and some of our members have recommended we lock the 5th Street entrance during church. We have decided to do so and will also lock the door from the parish hall into the undercroft. The gray doors into the parish hall will not be locked so people will have access to the rest rooms there.

Little Free Library: We need more children’s books for our Little Free Library. New or gently used books can be placed in our Library (the green box in front of Anglican Hall).

Yoga at St. Paul’s: We had a wonderful turn-out for participation on the first night held! Beverly Grigsby will continue to lead yoga on Monday afternoons in the Parish Hall beginning at 5:00 pm  It is for beginners and people at all levels who wish to participate. Please bring a mat and blocks (if you have these).
