What's happening this week at St. Paul's

April 20-26, 2025

Upcoming Events & News

Re: Adult Sunday School: "Luke: Jesus and the Outsiders, Outcasts and Outlaws" is the title of our current study. The book, written by Adam Hamilton, is available to read on Kindle or paperback from Amazon. Class starts at 9:30 am in the Parish Hall. Come see what it's all about!!

Office Closed: I will be out of the office Thursday, the 24th and Friday, the 25th. Noah has morning appointments those days first thing in the morning and I’m unsure how long they will last; since I have my second job in the afternoon, it creates a lesser headache for me to try and rush between here and there 🙂. I will be in the office Monday-Wednesday; the weekly email will go out Wednesday morning. - Katie

Altar Flowers: There is a Sunday in May available for altar flowers: May 11th. Contact Jo Cargill-Krug at 870-613-6981; text Jo if possible.

Forward Day by Day: The May, June, and July issue of Forward Day by Day has arrived and will be available for you to pick up this Sunday in the Narthex and in the office during the week. We will also mail you a copy if you wish – please call or email Katie if you would like her to mail one to you.

Mark Your Calendar:

  • Coffee Hour: After the service, everyone is invited to the Parish House (two lefts at the bottom of the steps) for refreshments and fellowship
  • Children’s Sunday School: Sunday, April 27th & May 4th at 9:45 am
  • Mahjongg Lessons: Every Sunday at 2:00 pm in the Parish Hall
  • Adult Sunday School: Sundays, 9:30 am in the Parish Hall
  • The Chosen Discussion Group: Every Monday from 5:30-7 pm. During the waiting period for Season 5 of The Chosen to become available, we will be using our Tuesday 3-4:30 pm meeting time to put together a 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle depicting Jesus and the apostles. We invite anyone who likes such puzzles to join us each Tuesday afternoon for comradery starting January 7, 2025.

Blessing Box: Looking for ideas about what to donate for the Blessing Box? Rice Krispie treats, pop tarts, ramen noodles, fruit snacks, granola bars or chips work! These items will go in the Blessing Box, and will also be shared with our Lyon College students when the Care Team makes “snack bags” to pass out monthly. Thank you! 😊

Vestry Covenant 2025

EfM Prayer

Our Father, who teaches us the true meaning of kindness;

You gave us the example with Your Son, Jesus Christ.

We thank you for teaching us to both

give kindness expecting nothing in return,

and to receive kindness with gratitude.

We pray for the wisdom to understand that our generosity means

more when kept in secret, so that we will always remember

to pay it forward, so You can be our magnificent obsession.

Amen

Good Friday Offering: For tonight's Good Friday service, there will be a plate for Good Friday Offering in the Narthex. It will be collected to support the ministry of The Episcopal Church in Jerusalem and the Middle East. These gifts will help provide essential healthcare services at al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza; the medical center at St. George's in Baghdad, Iraq; an eye clinic at Christ Church in Yemen, the Christian presence of All Saint's Episcopal Church in Damascus, Syria and All Saints' Episcopal Church in Beirut, Lebanon. Thank you for your generous support.
