Upcoming Events & News

Smoked Turkeys: The Men’s Group is selling their annual smoked turkeys. Tickets are available for purchase in the office from a member of the Men’s Group or online. If purchasing online please choose Men’s Group for the fund and put Turkey in the memo line. Turkeys will be available for pick up at the church on Saturday, November 20th from 8:00 am to 10:30 am.

Church Secretary Position: When Tymina accepted her position here at St. Paul’s, she was needing part-time work, but her situation has changed and so she has accepted a full-time position with McLaughlin Dermatology Clinic. It is a wonderful opportunity for her and we wish her well. Her last day here will be October 27th. This creates an opening in our office; if you know of anyone who might be interested in a part-time position, please have them send their resume to Fr. Jim at [email protected]

All Saints Day: All Saints Day will be celebrated on Sunday, November 7th. An important part of this celebration will be the remembrance of those from our families, our parish and our community who have died. If you wish to remember someone with a memorial gift, please make your contribution by Monday, November 1st so their name will be included in our bulletin. These gifts may be made online by going to stpaulsbatesville.org and using the secure online giving portal. Please choose Memorial Fund and note the name(s) of whom you wish to remember in the memo line. You may also call or email the office with names you wish to add.

Giving Statements: September Giving Statements will be available in the Narthex again this Sunday. If you have any questions regarding statements please call or email the office.

Halloween Trunk or Treat: Let's give our kids a special treat! Join the families of St. Paul's and First Presbyterian as we have a Trunk or Treat at 3:00 pm on the afternoon of Halloween (October 31st). Cars or tables will be in the parking spaces on the College Street side of First Presbyterian. Everyone is invited to come set up and share treats with the kids!

Batesville Unity Group: The Batesville Unity Group will be hosting a presentation by Justine Yatska, an Academic Support Coach at UACCB, on Appropriate Pronoun Usage for the LGTBQ+ community. The presentation will be from 5:30-7:00 pm Thursday, October 21st at the George Rider Community Room at First Community Bank located on St. Louis and Harrison. Bring your favorite potluck dish.

Halloween Candy: Main Street plans to celebrate Halloween on Saturday, October 30th. We will be giving out candy and are asking for donations of bags of individually wrapped candy. If you would like to donate, please drop off bags in the Narthex or in the office with Tymina (between 8 am & noon, M-Th). Main Street will celebrate Halloween on Saturday the 30th instead of Sunday.

Donations for Independence Library: The Independence County Library has been hosting a program after school for teens and youth to have a safe space to do homework and has been offering them snacks. They are asking for donations of pudding cups, jello cups, individual microwavable mac & cheese, spicy chips, crackers, peanut butter, nutella, granola bars, pretzels, snack cakes, popcorn and candy. Also needed are plastic spoons, forks and paper plates and bowls. Donations can be dropped off in our office or at the library front desk. If you have questions, please contact Sloane Simmons at 870.793.8814.

Fall Gathering: The Arkansas Episcopal Church Women is now planning on holding their fall gathering both virtually and in person on Saturday, November 6th. The in-person meeting will be held at St. Mark’s, Little Rock, beginning at 9:00 am and closing at 1:00 pm. The speaker will be The Reverend Canon Dr. Lisa Corry. Click here to download a brochure and to register.

Youth Outing: After Trunk or Treat the youth of First Presbyterian and St. Paul’s will be joining together to celebrate Halloween with some spooky fun! We will take the Church Van from First Presbyterian to the River Haunt. Afterwards we will go to St. Paul's for some treats. The event will end at 5:00 pm. Bring a friend and be ready for a good time! We have a special group rate of $9 each. If the cost keeps you from coming, just reach out and we'll get you covered.
