This Sunday (New Year’s Day) is the last Sunday of the Christmas Season. We will have one service at 10:30 am, Christmas Lessons & Music (with Eucharist). It will include some of our favorite Christmas Hymns.
Office Closed: The office will be closed Monday, January 2nd. Normal hours will resume Tuesday, January 3rd.
Discretionary Fund: This Sunday the loose plate offering (gifts not designated for pledges, building, etc.) will be deposited into the Rector’s Discretionary Fund. Fr. Jim uses this fund to assist people who come to our church in need of help, to purchase items for the Community Meals as needed, and to support charitable causes.
Pub Theology: Pub Theology will take place on Tuesday, January 3rd at Fox Creek BBQ at 6:00pm. Everyone is invited to come for discussion & assemblage and we invite you to bring a guest or two!
Twelfth Night Party: The Care Team is planning a Twelfth Day of Christmas Celebration at the Barnett Farm. It will be on Friday, January 6th at 6:00 pm. You are asked to bring your appetizers or finger foods and your own beverages.
Clothing Needed: The Care Team is collecting coats and warm clothing to help people in our community. We will be giving them away at our weekly community meals. Donations may be left in the Narthex or brought to the office.
Pictures for the Directory: If you did not get your picture taken for the new church directory, just ask Brenda Bittle to take your picture when you see her at church or email your picture to the office.
Vestry Nominations: The vestry is seeking nomination for three members to serve three-year terms on our vestry beginning in February. Candidates must be confirmed members, must attend regularly and pledge. You may submit your name or the name of another member to Fr. Jim or a member of the vestry. A slate of candidates will be presented to the membership prior to our annual meeting on January 29th.
Stewardship 2023: We appreciate each and every pledge! Together, you have pledged $7,000 more for 2023 than was pledged in 2022. Thank you.
Diocesan Convention: On February 17th & 18th, the Arkansas Diocesan Convention will be held in Little Rock. The delegates from St. Paul’s will also be our delegates to a special session in August for the election of our next bishop. Please let Fr. Jim or a member of the vestry know if you would like to be considered to serve as our delegates.
Giving to St. Paul’s: For those attending online, there are three ways to give: you may mail your gifts to St. Paul’s at PO Box 2255, Batesville, AR. 72503, or make an online contribution by going to our website (stpaulsbatesville.org) and following the link to make a contribution. You may also set up automatic payments through your bank’s Bill Pay service.
