Discretionary Fund: This Sunday the loose plate offering (gifts not designated for pledges, building, etc.) will be deposited into the Rector’s Discretionary Fund. Fr. Jim uses this fund to assist people who come to our church in need of help, to purchase items for the Community Meals as needed, and to support charitable causes.
Office Closed: The office will be closed on Monday April 4th. Katie will return for normal hours on Tuesday.
Holy Week Services: Holy Week Services will be offered in-person and on-line beginning Palm Sunday at 8:00 and 10:30 am. Please note, there will not be a nursery, children of all ages are welcome in church. Services will include a Tenebrae Service on Wednesday at 7:30 pm, Maundy Thursday at 7:30 pm, Good Friday at noon, Easter Vigil on Saturday at 8:00 pm, and Easter Sunday Services at 8:00 and 10:30 am.
Forward Day by Day: The May, June, and July issue of Forward Day by Day has arrived and will be available for you to pick up this Sunday in the Narthex and in the office during the week. We will also mail you a copy if you wish – please call or email Katie if you would like her to mail one to you.
Stained-Glass Window: A memorial gift from Louis Kealer’s family, coupled with money from the Men’s Group and an increasing number of gifts from parishioners is making it possible to repair and restore the large stained-glass window above the entrance to our church. The vestry, at its March meeting, approved a bid from Soos Stained Glass to complete this project. David Soos, out of Little Rock, is considered one of the top Stained-Glass craftsman in the Southwest.
Organ Repairs: Our organ recently had a significant amount of work done to replace deteriorating valves. As you might expect, finding someone to do this work can be difficult. Fortunately, we are blessed by our connection with Lyon College and we were able to save money by scheduling it between the work on its organ and on organ at the Lutheran Church. We are also blessed by all the memorial gifts we have received which covered the cost of this work.
Giving to St. Paul’s: For those attending online, there are three ways to give: you may mail your gifts to St. Paul’s at PO Box 2255, Batesville, AR. 72503, or make an online contribution by going to our website (stpaulsbatesville.org) and by following the link to make a contribution. You may also set up automatic payments through your bank’s Bill Pay service.
FROM THE DIOCESE:
Help Ukrainian Refugees: You can give to Episcopal Relief & Development who is working with ACT Alliance and Anglican partners in Europe to provide humanitarian assistance to people fleeing the violence in Ukraine. You may Give Online or pick up forms in the Narthex or church office which tell how you can mail in a contribution.
