Closer my Lord to You
Oh, Lord my God, in today’s Gospel Jesus eats with sinners, and he is criticized by the Pharisees. Sometimes I can be like them and judge others too harshly, and sometimes even myself. I see today in this reading the kindness, compassion and mercy, even when I may not deserve it. Allow me to have the desire to be like Him in being just, loving and merciful. Allow me to use this year’s Lenten Season to get closer to Jesus, making time in my schedule to quiet down and put myself in His presence, and in this way to become closer to Jesus and more like Jesus in my attitudes, thinking and compassion for those I live with, as well as with others. I ask this grace of You today in His name, Jesus Christ, my order.
Amen.
