God hears whatever we ask

O God, our heavenly Father, You have assured us in the passage from St. John’s
First Letter that we have the confidence to ask anything according to Your will, that You will hear us.

Grant is the grace today that we may ask for only for those things that are in accord with your will. So often we can be so blinded by our own desires, wants and outcomes, we fail to seek and desire Your will. We know You know what is best for us and will sometimes surprise us with outcomes that are better for us than we realize at the time. Grant us to seek and know Your will for us.

We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen.
