USF St. Petersburg Breaking Ground on new Resident Hall and Dining Facility
A new 375-bed residence hall will rise at USF St. Petersburg to give students more affordable housing options downtown while increasing the number of beds on campus by nearly 70 percent. The six-story building will be approximately 125,000 square feet and include a full-service dining hall, which the university currently does not have. A groundbreaking Ceremony will be celebrated Thursday, April 25th.

Jabil Celebrates Grand Opening of New Innovation Center
In March, Jabil opened its new research and development Innovation Center as phase one of their $67 million headquarters expansion project in St. Petersburg. The building was former home of the Tampa Bay Research Institute and redeveloped to include labs and work space for more than 100 engineers, researchers and technicians. "When it comes down to it, we're a St. Pete company, " CEP Mark Mondello said.

Urban Resilience Program Awards Grant to Enhance Local Resilience Efforts
The City of St. Petersburg is committed to ensuring that investments in making the city more resilient are equitable and create a range of opportunities. Last month, ULI Tampa Bay was selected as a winner of a Urban Resilience District Council engagement grant. ULI Tampa Bay will be partnering with the City of St. Petersburg to move forward with a project that will convene a Technical Assistance Panel (TAP) to create guidelines on design standards to ensure developments are more resilient.

Albert Whitted Airport Master Plan is Underway
The City of St. Petersburg has begun the process to prepare a new comprehensive Master Plan for the Albert Whitted Airport. The last master plan for the airport was conducted in 2005. Since that time there have been a number of changes at the airport and in the surrounding community, as well as within the aviation industry.

Legal Notice: Intent to Lease City-owned Real Estate
The City of St. Petersburg is in receipt of an offer from SH Marinas, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, to lease and operate the St. Petersburg Municipal Marina located at 500 1st Avenue Southeast, St. Petersburg Florida 33701, and located within the Intown Redevelopment Area.

Request for Proposal for the Purchase & Development of City-Owned Real Estate
The City of St. Petersburg is currently accepting proposals through May 10th from private developers or any persons interested in undertaking the acquisition and development of the City-owned property located approximately at 1300 1st Avenue North, the former Police Headquarters site.

EDGE District Master Plan Debuts Latest Project Element
The EDGE District Improvement Plan was completed in 2016 when City Council approved $150,000 from the Penny for Pinellas fund, a county 1% sales tax collected for community capital improvements. Priorities were defined for the Plans scope: (1) improving the aesthetics of the district; (2) enhancing a sense of business district identity; (3) encouraging investment in the EDGE District; (4) increasing opportunities for businesses, property owners, residents, and other stakeholders; and (5) providing an implementation strategy and budget for improvements and programs.

Last week, the EDGE District unveiled the newest implemented project from the plan: gateway markers. Artist James Brenner was selected for his concept celebrating the industrial heritage and edgy character of the District. Materials are Corten steel, layered green glass, stainless steel & LED lighting.

Dali Museum Plans $38M Expansion
National news broke this week that the iconic Salvador Dali Museum is planning a major $38M expansion in St. Petersburg. Plans include a new parking garage, event spaces and room for its new augmented reality digital spaces.
