'Tis The Season for
The Christmas Giving Tree Program
With the Advent season quickly approaching, it is time for St. Peter's Annual Christmas Giving Tree Program. This year we will again provide roughly 85 families with gift cards, Christmas stocking bags, and grocery shopping cards, along with multiple bags of food. Last year, like so many activities, we had to pivot to providing gift cards and Christmas stockings rather than specific items. This approach was warmly received by the families we supported during the Christmas holiday season.

By providing our clients with gift cards we gave them the ability to shop for their family members and themselves. This approach gives each person the ability to get an item of their choosing that meets their personal style while ensuring a proper fit.  We are staying with that approach given its popularity and the reality that shopping for specific items this year may be more challenging than normal.
Here's How You Can Help
Gift Cards
We will be distributing gift cards to Target and Walmart, as well as grocery cards for Price Chopper and Aldi. In order to ensure the equitable distribution of cards for individuals and families, we ask that they be provided in $25 increments. Gift Cards should be delivered to the Legacy Center.
Stocking Stuffers
We also plan to provide individuals with gift bags full of "stocking stuffers." Please use this Signup Genius to let us know you will be providing a large ziplock bag for either a male or female adult. (We have youth and teens covered.) A list of suggested items is included on the signup, but feel free to use your imagination.
Groceries
Food pantry donations will help us provide for a nice holiday meal, and will sustain our families into the New Year. Donations can be left in the baskets in the Church Vestibule or delivered to the Legacy Center between 9:00 and 4:00, Monday-Friday.
Cash Donations
Are you pressed for time, or not sure what to give? Cash donations are always appreciated and will be used to purchase gift cards and groceries as needed. Donations can be made through our website (please use the line designated Social Services) or via check made out to Social Services.
Please Submit All Donations By
Friday, December 3
We will distribute food, gift bags and Christmas Stockings beginning Monday, December 8 so please turn in all donations by Friday, December 3.   Contact Mark Hague at mhague@stpeterskc.org or by calling 816-877-0300 if you have any questions.

Gift cards, checks, and stocking stuffers can be delivered to the Social Services entrance to the Legacy Center, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
