ATTENTION: Steeple Construction Project: October 20–26
Schedule, Parking & Access
| | |
St. Peter’s Church will begin its anticipated steeple construction and installation project on Tuesday, October 20, at 7 a.m., with work expected to conclude Monday, October 26, around 3 p.m.
During this time, parking and building access will be temporarily affected. The church driveway (off Easton Road) will be closed for the duration of the project. All vehicle traffic will be directed to enter and exit using Pleasant Ave. We are asking people to enter from Easton Road and exit toward Jenkintown Road. One side of the parking lot (the side closest to the driveway) will be closed to allow two lanes of traffic to flow.
Please follow posted signs and directions from church staff and volunteers, allow extra time for arrival and departure, and use alternate building entrances. Please note: All church buildings and grounds will be closed on Saturday, October 24, for the steeple installation.
We appreciate your patience, flexibility, and cooperation as we complete this important project and maintain a safe environment for our parish community.
| | Volunteers Needed to Guide Parking Lot Traffic on October 20 & 21 During Steeple Construction | | |
We are looking for two volunteers in one hour shifts to help guide traffic and drop off circulation for the Kid View Preschool drop off and pickup on Tuesday, October 20 and Wednesday October 21 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. These are the first two days of this seven day steeple construction project.
Use the button below to volunteer on the Sign Up Genius schedule if you are willing to help guide these new traffic patterns. If you have questions, please contact Mark Evans via email at markcarverevans@gmail.com or phone at 215-872-4411.

Episcopal Identity Forum, This, Sunday, Oct. 18
What makes Episcopalians unique? What qualities and values do we bring to the wider "Jesus movement"? This Sunday, help kick off Stewardship Season with an interactive and dynamic forum on Episcopal identity at 11:30 in the parish hall, led by Rev. Barb and Rector's Warden Deborah Way.
The conversation will pave the way for a two-part space use forum Oct. 25 and Nov. 1 on how our identity, reflected in mission and charisms, shapes our worship space now and in the future.

Read Rev. Barb's Recent Rector's Note.
This Sunday, Oct. 18, we'll sing a new theme song and learn what's in store for Stewardship Pledge Season, which runs until Ingathering Sunday on November 15. We'll even hear from parishioners as they reflect on ministry and what stewardship mean to them.
During our pledging season, we'll reveal our new year-round theme, interactive bulletin board, time and talent showcase videos, and prayerfully consider what stewardship means to each of us.

The Deacon's Corner-10.15.26
From the publisher...Though Christians the world over make yearly preparations for Lent, there's a conspicuous lack of good books for that other great spiritual season: Advent. All the same, this four-week period leading up to Christmas is making a comeback as growing numbers reject shopping-mall frenzy and examine the deeper meaning of the season. We'll take a look at Watch for the Light, as our Advent read.
Ecumenical in scope, these fifty devotions invite the reader to contemplate the great themes of Christmas and the significance that the coming of Jesus has for each of us - not only during Advent, but every day. Whether dipped into at leisure or used on a daily basis, Watch for the Light gives the phrase "holiday preparations" new depth and meaning.
Includes contributions by these and other writers:
- C. S. Lewis, Madeleine L'Engle, Thomas Merton
- Dorothy Day, Henri Nouwen, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Oscar Romero, and Edith Stein
- Martin Luther, Meister Eckhart, Eberhard Arnold, and Christoph Friedrich Blumhardt
- T. S. Eliot, John Donne, and Sylvia Plath
- Kathleen Norris, Brennan Manning, and Evelyn Underhill
- Annie Dillard, St. Thomas Aquinas, and Gerard Manley Hopkins
- Romano Guardini, St. John Chrysostom, and Giovanni Papini..and more
