St. Rita Church and Ministry Updates
New Mass Times and Safety Measures Prepared
The clergy and pastoral staff have worked hard to develop new health and safety standards for all Masses and Sacraments. Fr. Burchell speaks to specific information on attendance, seating, Communion, and Reconciliation as we prepare for a "soft opening." Weekday mass will resume Monday, May 25th, and weekend worship will resume on Saturday, May 30th for Pentecost.
A Special Blessing from our Priests and Deacons!
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the Sacraments of Initiation, First Communion, and Confirmation have been postponed. Additionally, our 8th grade graduates and parish high school seniors have been unable to enjoy end of year celebrations. To celebrate all these individuals, our clergy has a special blessing for them!
Virtual Day of Service

Over 150 parishioners participated in the Virtual Day of Service on May 16th. Families spent time serving their Domestic Church in fun, creative ways including: gardening, creating cards, cleaning neighborhoods, collecting food donations, and more! Thank you to all those who shared their time and talent in service to others!
During the Month of May We Honor our Blessed Mother

Please join our Junior High students and staff for the Living Rosary , then join our Second Grade students as they lead us in a very special virtual May Crowning ! For those with small children, here is a Catechist Kids calendar with suggestions for celebrations!
Virtual VBS & SLAM Camps!

St. Rita has not forgotten about our pre-K to 6th grade children! During this time of isolation St. Rita will still offer Vacation Bible School and SLAM Camp to our families! Camp leaders and campers will connect through song, a "Saint of the Day" lessons, crafts, games, and snacks!
Annual Rummage Sale

Please keep an eye out for more information on the rummage sale. We are very hopeful this wonderful fundraiser will still occur! Please use this time of quarantine to clean out and gather donations. Thank you for holding your items slightly longer than expected. If the rummage sale does not happen, we will provide you with a list of places that are accepting donations.
Celebrate our Graduates!

St. Rita would like to celebrate all graduating seniors. Please send a photo of your senior and a one sentence tribute.

St. Rita Students Receive Superior Ratings
in the State Science Fair
Four 7th grade students participated in the Ohio Academy of Science District 5 Science Fair this year. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the Academy had to adjust the method of participation. In addition to the usual paperwork, the participants were asked to submit a video presentation of their projects. The results were released Wednesday, May 13th. Liam Flynn, James Fornadel, Andrew Hutter, and Aiden McNamara received Superior ratings for projects. Their extra effort was acknowledged by the judges. In addition, James Fornadel received recognition by the Ohio Nurses Association for the Best Health Care Project submitted by a middle school student. Congratulations to these young men and best of luck as they proceed to the State competition!

Let Us Pray
Act of Spiritual Communion Prayer

My Jesus,
I believe that You
are present in the
Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive
You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment
receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually
into my heart.
I embrace You as if
You were already there and
unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be
separated from You.
St. Rita Stewardship Prayer

Jesus our Savior, we thank you
for your gift of salvation.
At Baptism we accepted
the call to follow you.
Fill us with your
love and peace
as we move along
our faith journey
and send the Holy Spirit
to guide us.
As good stewards,
help us to develop our gifts
as your disciples
and give us the strength and
courage to share them with others.
We ask this in your name.
