THE SHEPHERD'S VOICE
January 6, 2022

St. Robert Catholic School students love God, their neighbors, science, technology, engineering, math and learning so they can
be the best they can be.
Welcome to the world Nolan Sass!

This Week at
St. Robert Catholic School!
Dear Families!

Happy New Year and welcome to 2022! What a blessing it is to start another new year at St. Robert Catholic School!

The first week back went pretty smoothly! The kids seemed anxious to get back to school and see their friends. I was certainly ready to return to a regular schedule!

I am happy to let you know that we are going to start gathering as a school community each Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday morning in the main church to for Pledge and Prayer. We will not gather on Wednesdays since we go to Mass at 9:00am.

Starting Monday, January 10, students will accompany their teachers to the church and be seated for Pledge and Prayer by 8:15. We will have our regular pledge and prayer and announcements, and then I will talk to the kids about our current virtue.

If you are running late for school and Mrs. DeWildt or I are not out front, please be aware that you will have to walk your student into the building and escort them to the church.  This new schedule will not allow us to stay outside past 8:00am.

Prior to Christmas break, I communicated to you that the Kent County Health Department mask mandate would expire when we returned to school. As a school, we have consistently followed the mandates and guidelines from Kent County Health Department, and the decision was made to continue this practice. Although the mask mandate has been lifted, the majority of the students came to school wearing masks this week, and a few even requested one after arriving. We will continue to encourage the use of masks while emphasizing classroom sanitization strategies, hand washing, and respecting personal space. We have created a very safe learning environment at St. Robert where students understand that each of us gets “what we need” and that each person has the right to these things. Students whose families want them to wear masks will continue to and be encouraged to wear masks. This understanding and teaching will continue as we navigate the latest statement from the health department.
