Greetings from Mr. G
October 23, 2020
Service warms the heart and soul, bringing hope to many. We are so grateful to the O'Donnell family and several 8th grade students for turning our school grounds into pumpkin patches for the younger students to explore. Your act of kindness brought much joy to our community.
On another note of service, my sincere thanks to the Anstett family for their contribution of $4,000 to cover the tuition gap. These funds make a significant impact on our budget especially this year when we have incurred additional expenses due to Covid. I ask all families to consider the possibility of paying some or all of the tuition gap to help keep our school financially strong. Thank you.
Dear St. Rose School Families,
Today was remarkable. We joined our hearts and prayers together in support of those affected by breast cancer. We became a sea of pink as classes paraded to the Mary shrines on campus to recite the rosary. More than $500 was raised for breast cancer research. Thank you for contributing to this important cause. Our prayers continue for hope and healing among all who are dealing with this and other illnesses.
It's uplifting to see how many parents are involved at school, even from a distance. I smiled when I saw a photo of Mrs. Tokarcyzk appearing live, on screen, to read a story in the First grade in honor of her daughter Olivia's birthday. The look of devotion between mother and daughter was priceless. It is moments like these that define what is special about St. Rose School. We value our parents!
The weeks are moving quickly and we are staying strong. Thanks for helping us adhere to the daily guidelines to ensure a safe environment for students and faculty. Work and prayer are key in this new normal.
I am delighted to share that we have secured the permit for our Tuition raffle which will kick off November 5th and run through January 31st. We are counting on 100 percent participation from all school constituents to make this a fundraising success. You can find details in the newsletter. Please mark your calendars and join us for the State of the School/HSA meeting on November 5th as well.
I hope that your children are enjoying their time at school and feeling confident about their studies and homework assignments. The first quarter will close November 1st so please be sure that any outstanding assignments are submitted and questions are directed to teachers. We are committed to helping every child meet their full potential.
The Fall days have been beautiful and the weekend ahead looks promising. Enjoy the festivities of the season and your family time.
Did you know it costs $8,538 to educate EVERY 1 student at St. Rose School? This means that $1,958 per student is not covered by tuition. We need your help! Read more

During the month of October our students are busy learning, and serving others as well! Today was our Pink Parade and Prayer Day. Our classes took time out of their day to visit our Mary Garden and statues on campus to pray the rosary for those family and friends named on the pink ribbons brought in by our students. Dressed in pink, our students also raised $522, which we will be donating to Memorial Sloan Kettering for their breakthrough breast cancer treatment and care. We want to thank all our families for their support and ask that you join us in our continued prayers of healing and comfort for our those affected by breast cancer.
Our October service continues next week with Trick or Treating for Faith Food Pantry on Friday, October 30! This will be a costume dress up day for Preschool through Grade 1; the annual Book Character Dress-Up in Grade 2; and for Grades 3-8 a fall dress down day. Instead of getting treats, we are going to collect some goods! We are asking everyone to bring 2 nonperishable items for the Faith Food Pantry. As we head into the colder weather and with so many in need these days, we want to add to the shelves at the food pantry by giving treats!
The month and the first quarter are quickly coming to an end! Our students have gracefully worked through these first months and have kept busy with many enriching activities inside their classrooms and in the outdoors! Here are our second graders taking advantage of a beautiful sunny fall day,, and our outdoor learning area as they study the states of matter in science with bubbles!
