"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you."
Dear St. Rose School Families,
Refreshed and energized from Spring Break, we set our sights on the the last lap of the 2020-2021 school year. It was wonderful to feel the excitement in the halls as students engaged in lessons, service outreaches and Earth Day activities.
This week we celebrate Administrative Assistants. Please join me in a heartfelt THANK YOU to Mrs. Sweeting who keeps our school running smoothly from day to day and is always willing to lend a smile or helping hand to faculty, students, parents and anyone in need of support. She embraced her role enthusiastically this year and has become a vital part of our school community. God bless, Mrs. Sweeting, we are grateful for all you do!
Tomorrow our 8th Graders receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. We are thankful to Sister Thaddeus and Mrs. Petrillo for instructing them over the past two years as they prepared to become adult Catholics. May the Holy Spirit guide them along fruitful paths. Next Saturday, May 1st, our Second Graders receive First Holy Communion. Please keep these students and their families in your prayers.
Enrollment for the 2021-2022 school year is very encouraging. We are delighted that so many current families are staying with us and look forward to welcoming all new families into our vibrant school community. The deadline for applications to the Bishops Scholarship Fund (for new families) has been extended (see below). Spring is typically a busy time for Preschool enrollment. We have openings in our Peek A Boo 2's, 3-year-old, 4-year-old and Transitional Kindergarten (5-year-old) programs. Please share the word. Inquiries can be directed to Mrs. Coppola, our Admissions Director.
The weather has been a bit of a roller coaster this week so please be sure to send children to school with layers. They are enjoying being outside especially now that fresh mulch has been spread in the play areas. Thanks again to the Singer family for this generous donation!
Please remember that Friday May 7th is an Early Dismissal (11:30 a.m.) for Professional Development.
Another weekend knocks at our door. Have fun and we will see everyone back in the halls Monday morning.
Mr. Bardhyl Gjoka
Thank you, Mrs. Sweeting, for all you do to keep our school running smoothly!

THANK YOU FROM
FAITH FOOD PANTRY
Dear St. Rose School:
Faith Food Pantry extends our heartfelt appreciation for your recent caring and most generous monetary donation by means of your Lenten Mission Drive. Your special gift will provide significantly for many in our community. We cannot thank you enough for reaching out to help others so unselfishly.
Thank you for choosing to support FAITH's Mission.
BLOOMS FUND ACTIVITIES
In a year filled with many challenges, St. Rose School students continue to BLOOM. Balancing the budget is critical to keeping our beloved school vibrant. Through the generosity of many supporters we are doing pretty well with our BLOOMS Fund but this year we could not hold our big event, which brings in good revenue. Instead, we are planning 2 outreaches between now and year end to reach our $150,000 goal.
-Blooms Brick Walk -- you will have the opportunity to purchase personalized bricks that will be used to create a walkway in the island in front of the school building. This is an exciting way to connect past and present members of the St. Rose School family. Stay tuned for details next week.
-Blooms Day of Giving -- An online outreach with a video sharing highlights of our most unusual, yet uplifting year will take place May 13th. Our goal is to raise $30,000 -- our hope is that we can raise $15,000 through the outreach and we are seeking one, 2 or more generous supporters to match this so we can cross the finish line at $30,000 which, with Brick sales, should help us achieve our $150,000 fundraising goal for the 2020-2021 school year. If you or someone you know can provide a match please contact Mr. G or Laura Moulder, firstname.lastname@example.org. Together we can make it happen. Thank you.
As a Part 2 of Blooms Day of Giving we will hold a Blooms Appreciation car parade, "Still Blooming!" on Friday May 14th. This will take place during school hours and will be a festive way to THANK everyone in our community who has enabled St. Rose School to shine through these uncertain times. More information will follow.
St. Rose students celebrated Earth Day on April 22nd. Here a group of students display the saplings the whole school received from an anonymous donor to take home and plant. Below Preschoolers study our beautiful Earth.

Dear St. Rose Families,
Welcome back for our countdown to the last weeks of the school year!! Our students have been sharing stories of their spring adventures and we are glad to have the hallways and classrooms full again with activity, chatter and their smiling eyes; and happy to hear that they enjoyed their break!
It has been a most interesting week back, with a little of the four seasons greeting us throughout the days. On Tuesday, we had balmy temperatures, and our students were dressed in shorts and short sleeves; dark skies, pouring rain, and eventually cold winds ended our Wednesday; and yesterday our kiddos went home bundled up in coats, hats, and mittens, clutching and protecting their little tree saplings! In fact, yesterday in the early evening I actually drove through a snow squall that only lasted about 2 minutes, but it was April 22!! Perhaps it is fitting to have lived through the roller coaster of temperatures and weather for this Earth Week, a reminder of God’s goodness and greatness in all he has created and his purpose for everything in our lives! We are truly blessed in every way by His love for us!
Bonds of friendship and service to our community continued this week as our Class of 2021 and their second grade buddies joined with our friends at Church Hill Village to take a nice walk, on the warm Tuesday afternoon, in support of Autism Awareness Month. Dressed in blue, they met at Church Hill Village and walked a few laps with residents and staff. In appreciation, they were treated to granola bars and water afterwards. We are grateful for our connections across the generations!
Sacrament Saturdays, April 24 and May 1
Our 8th graders and their buddies also share something else special; they are both preparing to celebrate the gift of sacraments in the upcoming weeks. This weekend will be Confirmation for the 8th graders and the following Saturday will be First Eucharist for our second graders. We ask you to keep both classes in your prayers!
Congratulations and Blessings to our Class of 2021 as they are confirmed on Saturday morning.
May Jesus come to bless you on your Confirmation Day.
May you feel His loving presence in a very special way.
And as you strive to follow His footsteps may He bless your life
with many graces and lasting happiness.
Spring Means Bees...Spelling Bees!!
Congratulations to our school Spelling Bee Winners in grades 4, 5, and 6! They will be representing St. Rose in the Regional Spelling Bee on May 8th. For many years the Knights of Columbus from St. Jude’s sponsored the Spelling Bee; this year we are excited to announce that the Spelling Bee will be hosted by our St. Rose Knights! Our representatives will be:
Fourth Grade: Gaby Dias, alternate will be Joey Monckton
Fifth Grade: Luke Budzynski, alternate will be Liam Kirkman
Sixth Grade: Damien Tokar, alternate will be Adriana Kari
Important Reminder for Class of 2021
Mrs. Petrillo is asking all 8th grade parents to submit TEN individual digital photos of their son or daughter. These pictures typically span from baby pictures (baby pictures will also be used on their yearbook page) to the current school year. Photos of special events and other family members are highly encouraged. Pictures can be sent to Mrs. Petrillo email@example.com by May 7th. A separate email can be sent including past field trips or school events to be considered for the DVD. If you would like to assist with the task of putting the 8th grade DVD together please contact Mrs. Petrillo.
Celebrating All Good Things and People
Mrs. Sweeting was showered with good wishes and treats this week as our community celebrated Administrative Assistant’s Week. We are grateful to Mrs. Sweeting for all she does, each day, to keep things running smoothly and ensuring every little thing and our kiddos arrive at the right place at the right time!
Our school community dressed in blue and green today to celebrate Earth Week and ended the day with this prayer of commitment to God’s Creation. We hope you will join us in our pledge!
In honor of Earth week, we pray to God, our creator, and remember in our prayers, our tree lady, for her kindness and encouragement in caring for God’s creation.
Pledge of Commitment to Protect and Heal God's Creation
We have come to renew our covenant with God and with one another in Christ Jesus, our Lord. We have come to help protect God's creation.
We have come as followers of Jesus to commit ourselves anew to one another and to heal injustice and poverty.
We have come to stand together against all threats to life.
We have come to discover some new beauty every day in God's creation: the sunrise and sunset, birds, flowers and trees, rainbows in the sky, the stars, the many forms of life in the forest.
We have come to listen to the "music of the universe"- water flowing over rocks, the wind, trees bending in the wind, raindrops pattering the roof.
We will remember always that God speaks to us through the beauty of his creation, and we will try our best to answer God's call to reverence all that he has created.
Monday is National Kids and Pets Day; help us celebrate that special bond by sending us a photo of your child(ren) and their beloved pet(s)! We’d love to share these with our community next week! Send pictures to firstname.lastname@example.orgThank you for sharing!! It’s also National Pretzel Day, just in case you want to send a pretzel treat for them to enjoy at school on Monday!
Wishing you a beautiful spring weekend, experiencing joy in all God’s creation! Prayers and blessings to our Class of 2021 and their families on their Confirmation!
Second graders planted trees and studied the 3 "R's" -- Reduce, Recycle, Reuse.
We remain grateful to the Singer family for donating all the mulch that was needed to improve the outdoor play spaces around the school. Thank you to those of you who volunteered to help spread the mulch - since it was delivered during the break, the maintenance team took this on so that it could be done quickly, minimizing disruption to outdoor time for our children. Thank you to our wonderful maintenance team!
Volunteers are needed for our Golf Outing which will take place on Monday, May 24th at Redding Country Club. We need 4-5 parents to help us with registration and as monitors for contests such as the "hole in one." Please reach out to our event team (email@example.com) if you are able to help out. It's a beautiful event and place to spend the day! We also still have space for more foursomes so if you can join us on the course that day please register at saintrosegolfclassic.com.
As a reminder we will host the next (virtual) HSA Meeting on Thursday May 20th at 6:30pm. Details to follow before the meeting. We always welcome your questions, feedback, or ideas via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Enjoy the weekend!
