Dear parishioners,
On Wednesday we begun Nativity fast. I wish you a blessed beginning of Nativity fast-Advent. Let us multiply our good deeds, increase our prayer, attend church more frequently and of course, fast during this season.
During Nativity fast I will be available for confessions on Saturday after Vespers at 6:30 p.m. or any week day by appointment. Also, for those that cannot come for Vespers I will be available Sunday mornings from 8 a.m. until 8:50 a.m.

У среду је почео Божићни пост. Желим вам срећан и Богом благословен почетак поста. Позивам вас да у ово време умножимо наша добра дела, појачамо молитву, похађамо цркву чешће и наравно да постимо од мрсне хране.
За време поста бићу на располагању за исповест суботом вече после Вечерње од 6:30 као и радним даном заказивањем у одређено време. Такође, за оне који не могу у овим терминима, бићу на располагању недељом ујутру од 8 до 8:50 пре Литургије.

Holiday gift drive for local teens in foster care
|
|
This holiday season, Kolo is working with
Cambridge Family and Child Services
, to benefit 23 teens who are in their care. We hope to raise money for kids in our state who are in need of holiday joy. Many of these teens are escaping abusive situations and all are coming from distressingly traumatic conditions and in most cases, our gift cards will be the only gift they receive during this holiday season.

The donated money
will be used to purchase $25 gift cards from retailers selected by the teens, such as Target, Market Basket, Amazon, Marshalls, McDonald's, among others. Each teen will receive 2 gift cards tucked in a holiday card written by you or by Kolo.
We will be collecting donations through Sunday, December 9th and will give them to the CFCS office in Cambridge. Once the gift cards are collected, they will be distributed in time for the holidays.
Below is a little more information about the organization:
What began as a small orphanage 145 years ago, CFCS has grown into a highly regarded non-profit agency that provides intervention to at-risk families;
placement services for children and youth through its adoption, intensive foster care and residential programs; and services to children and adults with disabilities and their families. We serve more than 1,600 individuals in over 100 Massachusetts communities with high quality support and advocacy for children, adults, and families to develop and nurture safe, permanent relationships and maximize individual growth.

"(А) учаше * у једној синагоги суботом. И гле, беше онде жена која имађаше духа немоћи осамнаест година, и беше згрчена, и не могаше се никако усправити. А кад је виде Исус, призва је и рече јој: Жено, ослобођена си од немоћи своје. И стави на њу руке, и одмах се усправи и слављаше Бога. А старешина синагоге негодујући што је Исус исцели у суботу, одговоривши рече народу: Шест је дана у које треба радити, у ове, дакле, долазите те се лечите, а не у дан суботни. А Господ му одговори и рече: Лицемере, сваки од вас не одрешује ли у суботу свог вола или магарца од јасала, и води да напоји? А ову, кћер Авраамову, коју свеза сатана, ево осамнаест година, не требаше ли одрешити од ове свезе у дан суботни? Healing on the Sabbath
Luke 13:10-17
Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.” And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath; and he said to the crowd, “There are six days on which men ought to work; therefore come and be healed on them, and not on the Sabbath day.” The Lord then answered him and said, “Hypocrite! Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it? So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound-think of it-for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?And when He said these things, all His adversaries were put to shame; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by Him.
