Evangelization of Peoples Mass – Monday, January 11
|
Our seventh grade students and teachers are preparing for our next Mass, the Evangelization of Peoples, which will be held on Monday, January 11 at 10:30 a.m. in our Student Activity Center. Father Thomas Naval, Pastor of Santiago de Compostela Parish, will be our main celebrant and we anticipate to have a few more of our Pastors concelebrating as well.
Due to COVID-19, we continue to be unable to allow our whole student body to attend the Mass, nor are we able to invite parents and guests to join us in person. We will live-stream the Mass.

COVID-19 Health & Safety Reminders
|
As cases of COVID-19 continue to rise nationally, we must remain diligent with our COVID health and safety protocols which include wearing masks while on school grounds.(Anytime that a face shield is worn, it must be with a face mask under the shield for all staff and students in all grades). It is important that we practice social distancing throughout our school and maintain good hygiene by washing hands on a consistent basis. Finally, if your child is feeling ill and displaying any COVID-19 related symptoms, please keep them home and contact your family medical professional regarding the situation. We appreciate your continued support which will help St. Serra stay open for in-person learning.

Troop 818 is Accepting New Boy Scouts in January 2021
|
Calling all current 5th and 6th grade boys, Troop 818 is a boy-led troop which aims to develop the leaders of tomorrow who are guided by the values of Scouting: God, Country, Family and Self. We are chartered by St. Junipero Serra Catholic School. We welcome Scouts from all faiths and schools. Our troop has over 50+ registered Scouts from age 11 through age 18, with 100+ Eagle Scouts since chartering in June 1996. We hold troop meetings twice a month in the evenings, as well as service projects and other outdoor activities. During these COVID times, some activities look a bit different, but we are still an active Troop having fun, learning and ranking up! Watch quick video here.

Charism Crusader Award Winners for Trimester 1
|
This year, we have created a new award for our teachers and staff members called the Charism Crusader Award. A Charism is a spiritual, God-given gift or talent that is shared with others. Each trimester, we will give one Charism Crusader award to a teacher and one Charism Crusader Award to a non-teaching staff member.
Mrs. Kim-Saad is the winner of the Charism Crusader Award for teachers for the first trimester. She was nominated by Mrs. Taylor, our Middle School Music Teacher.
Mr. Lopez is the winner of the Charism Crusader Award for non-teaching staff for the first trimester. He was nominated by Mrs. Hardenburgh, our Senior Accountant.
Both Mrs. Kim-Saad and Mr. Lopez were awarded a beautiful certificate of achievement along with a $100 Visa gift card for sharing their wonderful gifts with the St. Serra Community!
