May 23, 2021
Dear St. Serra Parents,

As I mentioned in last week’s Sunday News, our school will be hosting a New Family Night on Wednesday, May 26. We have a large number of new families that have committed to our school for the 2021-22 school year, and this evening is dedicated to welcoming them to SJSC. The SJSC Administration will speak on our goals for achieving Academic Excellence and Faith Formation. Our PTO, along with our Advancement Director will represent our school to help make our families comfortable and knowledgeable coming into our school. We will also have  student representation, including our Middle School Student Council, to help guide tours and answer questions. If you know any of these new families transitioning into our school community, I ask that you do as much as you can to help make them feel welcome. Our school is growing and we are always looking for ways to make it better. Our commitment is to continuously improve, never be content, and to make adjustments when necessary.

Always Striving,

Tim Tolzda
Sr. Principal
Curriculum Surveys
Parents, please take a few minutes to let us know about your child’s learning needs for the upcoming school year by taking our survey. Please take the survey for the grade/level your child will be in for the upcoming 2021- 2022 school year. If you have more than one child in our school, you will need to take the survey for the upcoming school year for each of your children using the links below. Each spring we use these surveys to plan for curricular needs and place students in homerooms for the upcoming school year. Learning more about your child’s personality and learning style will better ensure proper homeroom placement by our educational team. Please know that due to the diverse learning needs found within every grade level at St. Junipero Serra Catholic School, one of our placement objectives is to balance the homerooms with a variety of students. Please keep in mind that we do not take teacher requests and we do not guarantee any requests. Click "Read More" for survey links. Thank you!
Homework Club Last Day
The last day for Homework Club for this school year will be Thursday, May 27. Information and a registration form for the 2021-2022 school year will be available on the school website by mid-August. Homework Club will start on Tuesday, September 7, the day after Labor Day. Please contact Mrs. Ellen Burrola with any questions.
COVID-19 Protocol & Student Symptom Decision Tree
The CDC and the Orange County Health Care Agency continually review and adjust their suggested practices and protocols based on emerging information about COVID-19. This memo is to announce some important changes regarding St. Serra’s COVID-19 protocols based on CDC and OCHCA guidance. Effective January 1, 2021, St. Serra has updated the return-to-school policy when a student is exposed to COVID-19. Click the image to view the Symptom Tree.
