Tuition for 2019-2020
The finance committee has submitted their recommendations to the School Advisory Board for 2019-2020 tuition rates, and the School Advisory Board considered the rate at its January meeting. From the recommendations, the final rates are being determined and documented for distribution and are expected to be publicized shortly. Given the steadily rising average of teacher salaries, the rapidly increasing cost of educational materials and textbooks, and the need to keep current with technological advances, tuition costs are expected to rise for the foreseeable future. Fortunately in Arizona, the decision has been made to publicly fund the education of all students and providing school choice to parents. While funding for public schools is direct to the Local Education Agency, tax supported tuition funding takes a more complex route to parochial and private schools. However, it is important to note that every child in Arizona should expect to be educated at state expense. At Saint Theresa, we have a number of families who have successfully navigated tax credit support through STO agencies and their tuition is fully funded with tax-credit funds - regardless of family income. Please make every effort, by attending the many informational sessions offered at STCS [Funds for All], to counter any increases in tuition by utilizing the tax credits available to you.
Applications are now open for the 2019-2020 school year. A new application needs to be completed every year.
Deadline for first round is April 15th ~ Apply at www.fairapp.com
Please contact Heather Chapman for more information 602-586-7490
If you did not receive funds from CEA for the 2018-2019 school year, you will be receiving a credit of $250 per family. Check your FACTS account for the credit!

Please make sure to reapply next year. Applications will be available in February/March for the 2019-2020 school year.

I need empty ‘Pringles’ containers with lids for a Lenten project for my R.E. families. I know it is short notice but I need about 150 before 2/24/19. Please drop off at the Parish Office (or School Office).
Thank you so much for your help.

Survey Says ...
Continuing with an analysis of the 2018 parent survey, questions 12 and 13 results are presented.

57 Responses offered suggestions for improvement. Two areas of improvement were nted most often. In the area of Second Language Instruction suggestions included adding languages other than Spanish, expanding language instuction to include PS and up, making Spanish instruction more rigorous (particularly in the earlier grades) and strengthening Spanish instruction overall. In the area of Technology Instruction, additonal rigor, emphasizing coding, and integrating science and technology were offered as suggestions. Less often mentioned was more emphasis on Sacramental Preparation, more hands on experiences, consistency of instruction across classes, and homework (both more rigor and less).
