Thank you to those parishioners who have already signed up their children for CCD for the upcoming school year. The staff is planning an exciting year. Students who do not attend Catholic school need to attend CCD in order to be prepared to receive the Sacraments.
Sacraments are not simply tradition or rites of passage. Sacraments are encounters with Christ through the ministry of the Church. The Church also teaches that parents are the primary educators of their children and that parish faith formation programs and Catholic schools are there to provide support and help.
If you have a student in grades K - 12 and are interested in learning more about our faith formation programs, call Lynn Jones, Director of Religious Education at (703)525-1300 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Links to registration form are below and on our website.

Did you know that the St. Thomas More Federal Credit Union has been a vital part of our parish ministry since 1971? Did you know that the Credit Union pays a current dividend rate higher than the more established banks? Did you know that the Credit Union is a great place to borrow money for many worthwhile needs with rates below the more established banks?
Membership in the Credit Union is open to all parishioners and employees of the Cathedral and school. Loans are available to everyone who has been a member of the Credit Union for a minimum of two weeks and has deposited a minimum of $50 in their account.
Come down and see how your savings can multiply and an unsecured signature loan can help you shore up your finances and bring down your monthly payments. The Credit Union is open on Sundays from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM in Burke Hall.
Your Challenge: Be vigilant in your relationships, conversations, in thoughts and in prayer, being watchful and wakeful for our Lord. Vigilance is ultimately not against the enemy, but for our Lord.
Don't forget to turn in your Mass sheets over the summer. Please drop them off at the Rectory. Also, don't forget to sign up for Youth Events to get your participation hours for Confirmation.
Burke Hall will be closed for the month of August, therefore, no events will be held including coffee and donuts after Mass.

To spread the word about the course and the Family Enrichment methodology, we are hosting free demonstrations of the course throughout Northern Virginia throughout the summer. The course uses a case-study method to help married couples discover the main pedagogical frameworks and basic habits that infants and toddlers should acquire. The method fosters communication between parents and creates opportunities for them to meet and learn from other couples at a similar stage of parenting.
