Message from your Pastor
Daily Mass

We are looking at the possibility of adding daily Mass.  Mass would be in the main church. In addition for those accustomed to daily Mass, this service would offer the possibility of Mass for those still uncomfortable with gathering in the larger group on Sunday. Daily Mass would be limited to 50 people.

To be able to offer daily Mass during Covid-19 we do need a team of volunteers to serve sacristans, lectors, hosts, ushers and church cleaners to sanitize the worship area after Mass.  Training will be provided if you have never done any of these ministries.  We would begin with a Monday morning Mass at 9:00 AM.   Depending on how my radiation treatments are going, we would add a Thursday evening Mass at 6:30 PM.

This is dependent on getting enough volunteers so people can serve on a rotating basis.  If you would like to volunteer please click the box below to let us know what you can help with, make sure you leave your name and email in the comment box.

Sunday, September 27th is the Feast of St. Vincent de Paul. Mass this weekend will be the feast day Mass rather than the 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time.
Church Open for Prayer …up till now

The Church is open for your private prayer on Wednesdays, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm. A steady stream of people stop by to spend some time with the Lord. The Eucharist is reserved on the main altar in the church during this period of adoration. For us to continue this practice we do need volunteers who can serve as hosts and cleaners to sanitize the church. Due to Covid-19’s impact, we have greatly reduced the parish staff and must rely upon parishioners if certain ministries are to continue.    Volunteer at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080B4DADAC29A46-church  and spend your own time with the Lord in service to his people.

During Covid-19, baptism will not be celebrated during the Sunday Mass, but celebrated communally Sunday afternoon outside of Mass. Parents/guardians are asked to participate in Baptism Preparation Classes to update their understanding of baptism, the important responsibilities of Christian parenting, and to learn more about the many ways our parish supports families. To schedule an initial interview and reserve a date for your child's baptism, or for more information, please contact John Simpson at jsimpson@stvincentparish.org or through the parish office at 253-839-2320.

Sunday is World Day of Migrants and Refugees

In his message for the World Day of Migrants and Refugees 2020, Pope Francis reminds us, "If we encounter them, we will get to know more about them. And knowing their stories, we will be able to understand them. We will be able to understand, for example, that the precariousness that we have come to experience as a result of this pandemic is a constant in the lives of displaced people."
