Message from your Pastor
Be Nice or Stay Home

During this pandemic, we are able to have Mass under strict protocols. This includes seating people in a certain order, increasing airflow, and dismissing people in a certain order.    Such protocols have required many volunteers. We just lost a valuable volunteer because this person does not want to put up with the rudeness of a few people who do lot like following these protocols. If we lose our volunteers, we will not be able to have the two Masses currently scheduled on Sunday.  We are not able to add an additional Mass because of the required number of volunteers it requires.

If you do not like being told where to sit or when to leave, please stay home.  There are other parishioners who would gladly have the opportunity to participate physically at Mass.  Please do not take your frustrations out on our volunteers.  Rather, please express your gratitude for their service that makes it possible for us to gather for Mass.  The vast majority of our parishioners do.  But it only takes a few to discourage those who are only trying to help.

Maybe those few rude individuals were from a different parish.  It does not sound like your typical St. Vincent de Paul parishioner.
-Fr. Bill

Solemnity of the
Assumption of Mary
August 15th is the Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary, when we celebrate Mary being taken up to heaven. Because it falls on a Saturday this year,  it is not a holy day of obligation.  There is no Mass at St. Vincent’s for the solemnity. Consider watching Mass live streamed from the archdiocese or another location. You may also like to pray the rosary on this day.

With 5 or more people this should take no more than 20 minutes.
