New Guidelines

Across the 165 parishes of the Archdiocese of Seattle, we have celebrated more than 20,000 Masses since the beginning of this pandemic. Due to the safety protocols and the great work of our parish COVID safety supervisors, staff, volunteers and parishioners, we have not had any reported cases of the coronavirus spreading at a Mass. This is something we should celebrate!

Nonetheless, this is no time to let our guard down. The Washington Department of Health notes that people are starting to gather indoors more. They are starting to ignore social distancing and are not always diligent about wearing a mask. Because of this, we are now experiencing the highest rates of COVID in our state. This is truly alarming and puts many people at risk. These next few months will continue to be difficult and will be particularly dangerous due to all of our indoor and in-person activities during the season.

The Governor has issued new guidelines to appropriately combat this rise in infection. We are still able to have indoor Mass, limited to 25 percent capacity of the building, as is the current situation.  The Church will continue to be open for adoration and private prayer on Wednesdays from noon to 2:00 PM. You must wear a facemask and keep social distance while on campus.

We will be encouraging our staff to work from home as much as possible.  We are suspending office hours, though staff members may be available by appointment only. Beginning Monday, the office will be closed to walk-ins.  You may still reach us by phone and by e-mail.

Our Faith Formation programs will be transitioning to an on-line only format.  On-site participation will be suspended for the time being. Please join us from the comfort of your homes as we foster our devotion to the Eucharist and grow in faith together. Watch for exciting news in the coming weeks about additional resources for your household. Take this time not just as isolation but as retreat time to grow in faith.

We are all very tired of this. But let’s not falter.  As we wait for a vaccine, it is time to be vigilant and cautious.   Wear your mask, wash your hands often and keep the social distance. Limit your social contacts. It is not forever; it is just for now.

In my entire life, I think I have missed three Thanksgiving dinners with my parents. Those times I was away at school. This year will be the fourth Thanksgiving I will not be with my parents. But I am grateful I can do my part to keep them safe. Be sure to keep your loved ones safe.

A note from your Parish Administrator
Parish Stewardship

Our stewardship cards are coming in! Thank you to all who have returned your pledge card or who have pledged online. However, we are still quite a bit behind where we usually are because of our limited ability to gather for Mass. Please do not forget to pledge! We will be sending out reminders next week, so use the postage paid envelope to return your pledge card to the office, drop it at Mass or in the black box outside the parish office, or go online to pledge through our website at stvincentparish.org

2020 Christmas Gift Cards for a Wounded Warrior

COVID 19 has made our annual Christmas Gift Card program more important and our collection a bit more challenging. Please consider supporting this program to support those who have given so much. Our Christmas Program to serve our Wounded Warriors is designed to empower the Warrior to purchase food for Christmas dinner, goods for family needs, or gas for medical appointments. This give a gift card program targets specific needs. Our Gift Card Program is a way to say Thank You for ALL they have done to keep us free. GIFT cards in amounts of $20, $25, $50, $75, $100 or even more are greatly needed! GIFT cards to Fred Meyer, Safeway, Walmart, Target, Amazon, or gas cards to ARCO and Chevron are requested by our Wounded Warriors. Please stay to this list as these stores are in most areas and give the most amount for your dollar!
How can you help? Starting October 19, 2020 through November 29, 2020, you can purchase gift cards and mail them to the address listed below. Why do we do this so early? So, you have time to help without the pressure of your holidays and so we can get your donations to the troops by their December 1st need date. Please be generous. Our goal is to provide 300 Warriors with gift cards. It means so much to those who have so bravely served. If you have any questions please contact Tony Robinson at Advocate@kofc7528.org
Thank you for your generous support.
