Message from your Pastor
I took last week off. A normal summer vacation would be a trip to Ashland Oregon for the Shakespearean Festival or traveling with friends or family.  This year’s summer vacation was cleaning the house.  I repaired and painted my patio, gave the kitchen a thorough cleaning (amazing how much grease gets behind the stove) and even cleaned out the garage. It did give me a good sense of accomplishment. I did manage to get in a couple of day hikes and talked to friends on the phone.

I joined the community for Mass via the live stream on Sunday and heard Fr. Tom’s great homily.  If you missed it, you may go to the parish web page and go to the recorded Masses.

I am back in the office now. There were 368 e-mail messages waiting for me. If one was yours, it may be a while before I get to all them.  We are gearing up for reopening the parish office and planning for the fall programs.  It will look different with all the restrictions due to Covid -19.  But we will continue to be Church: to be a diverse community that worships, serves and grows in the love and knowledge of Jesus.  We will be doing more on line and more in our homes.   My home is all clean and ready. Hope yours will be too.
-Fr. Bill

Prayer Initiative
We invite parishioners to sign up for a 30 minute prayer period so that prayer is constantly being offered throughout the day for our parish, for those suffering because of this pandemic and for those on the front lines of caring for sick and engaged in essential businesses for the common good. Pray as you like. It could be a rosary, liturgy of the hours, silent meditation, scripture reading or just talking to God.
