Message from your Pastor
You soon will be receiving the quarterly report on your giving to the parish. One reason we send these reports out is to ensure our records are accurate, please be sure to contact the parish if there is any mistake. This report also helps our parishioners review how they are doing on their tithing pledge.  One year I had pledged an increase in my tithing, but forgot to notify my bank for the automatic withdrawal, the quarterly letter helped me catch that. Another year my automatic withdrawal to the parish expired and I did not catch it until I received the quarterly letter.

I am extremely grateful for all who have been able to financially support the parish in these difficult times.  Since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have seen about a 20% drop in our Sunday income. We are still working on a budget for the new fiscal year we have just begun.   The Finance Council is projecting a decrease of about $300,000.00 from our Sunday income.  This means some parish program will need to be put on hold and the parish staff may need to be reorganized.

An additional challenge is our Annual Catholic Appeal that supports the ministries of the archdiocese throughout western Washington.  The parish is responsible to meet our goal. We are currently at only 66% of that goal.   If we do not meet that goal through the direct appeal to our parishioners, we may have to budget an additional $50,000 from our operational budget to cover our responsibilities.  Last year we did not make our goal for the Annual Appeal because we needed to launch the Called to Serve Campaign at the same time as the Appeal.   The parish must now pay the $7,000.00 shortfall of the 2019 Appeal.

If you are able, please help us meet this year’s goal. You can go online to http://www.seattlearchdiocese.org/donate to make your gift today to the Annual Catholic Appeal. Your participation, regardless of the amount, will make a difference – to you, to us, and to those who benefit from your generosity.

St. Vincent de Paul Parish Live Streams Mass Sundays at 10:30
This weekend we added a Vigil Mass on Saturday at 5:00 PM

At this Mass we will be celebrating the sacraments of initiation for some of our older children. This would normally have taken place at the Easter Vigil.  There is space available so we are opening it up to parishioners who would like to celebrate this special event in the life of the parish. Reservations are requires and can be made on line at the normal link to make reservations for Mass.
St. Vincent's
Prayer Initiative

We invite parishioners to sign up for a 30 minute prayer period so that prayer is constantly being offered throughout the day for our parish, for those suffering because of this pandemic and for those on the front lines of caring for sick and engaged in essential businesses for the common good. Pray as you like. It could be a rosary, liturgy of the hours, silent meditation, scripture reading or just talking to God.
Summer Bible Study
Amos: God’s Messenger of Justice

The message of Amos stands out as one of the most powerful voices ever to challenge hypocrisy and injustice. He spoke the word of the Lord boldly to both the religious and the national leaders of Israel.

In these days of social unrest, pandemic, and bitter partisan politics, hear anew the voice of the Lord’s messenger of justice.

You are invited to join this 4-week study via Zoom. To maximize effective discussion, groups will be limited in size.

Tuesdays: 10am and 7pm
Thursdays: 10am and 7pm
