Peace be with you, Beloved!
As I write this it is 5:50 am Friday, February 5th and you are loved! We are wrapping up Catholic Schools Week today with grateful thanksgiving for Mrs. Cota and all the teachers and staff at SCBA. We pray their hearts will continue to be strengthened in and for Christ. We conclude this special week with the heart of everything we do on this campus; the Mass. All our love, joy, power and meaning for existence comes from celebrating the Eucharist together. As usual, during our celebration today we will be honoring the gift and blessing of Grandparents. May God bless them in every way as they guide us to Jesus and heaven!

My homily for today is: ODE (Owning Directing Empowering) to Grandparents. You see, there is this plane called The Jesus Plane. The only way to get to heaven is on The Jesus Plane. Heaven is our goal, our hope, our reason for living. And we have to remember that just as Jesus owns, directs and empowers the plane so does he own, direct and empower our lives. We look to the owner of all that is, the creator of all things visible and invisible, to seek his direction and power for living that direction in our lives. All our good Grandparents want nothing but the best for us! With all their wisdom and grace, they invite us to jump on board The Jesus Plane! Their ODE to us, their greatest way of honoring us, is showing us what life is really about; that our true home is heaven and the way to get there is on The Jesus Plane. Our ODE (Owning Directing Empowering) to Grandparents is to honor their greatest honoring of us. Ever faithful to our freedom to choose, Jesus will not make us get on The Jesus Plane. But then, how would we ever get to heaven? I know everyone ever born wants to go! So I say in concert with you, “All aboard!”

Lent is right around the corner beginning Ash Wednesday, February 17th. I am excited that we will be doing SEARCH watch parties together! See the 3 Big Things!

Know that I am so grateful for your friendship and prayers! You have mine!

Be a part of our new Sacrament Prayer Partner ministry! This Sunday after mass, we will be matching up volunteer parishioners and children in our Academy / Parish who will be making their First Holy Communion. The main component of this ministry is PRAYER! Parishioners and children will lift each other up in prayer as our children journey towards this important sacrament. We all need prayer, and what better way to show our children the power of community prayer in action? Stop by the table after mass and sign up or email Esther Koetter.

From the Finance Council
St. Charles Parish and Academy:
Your Finance Council has been working hard even during these pandemic times. We've been meeting monthly via zoom to review Parish and Academy financials and other related items. We're planning for a hard copy financial report to be mailed to all parishioner's homes in March as part of our 2nd annual Blessed by the Best campaign. Thanks to the generosity of the Parish and Academy families, finances are strong. We have used this past year to build up reserves and continue to save for campus repairs and improvements. We are in the beginning stages of a long term maintenance plan, as requested by the Diocese. We are also in the planning sequence of our 75th Anniversary celebration.

Thank you for your support and most importantly, your love!
Blessed by the Best!
