Dear Friends,

This weekend is our patronal feast day of St Francis! By means of a video, Bishop Diane will be preaching for our 10am online worship service through our St Francis website page. At the 9am in-person service we shall hear her sermon.

But first, accompanied by our organist, David Knight, we gather in Holy Eucharist outdoors at 9am and celebrate the gift of communion with one another in this in-person opportunity. Please click here to RSVP to Paula+ for the 9am Outdoor Worship in front of our church. With the help of our ushers and altar guild, and many behind the scene volunteers the following protocols will help us stay safe:

  • You may bring your own lounge chairs but we shall have available, clean, sanitized chairs also.
  • You must wear a face mask covering your mouth and nose.
  • The seating area will be marked with mandatory 6 foot distancing strips and signage.
  • The 4 stone benches on the perimeter of the patio will be marked for household units.
  • Signage will facilitate where to stand for Holy Communion.
  • At this time, Holy Communion will be wafers only in paper cups.
  • Hand sanitizer stations and extra masks will be available.
  • If you have a cough or do not feel well then take care of yourself and stay at home.
  • The parish hall restrooms will be open. Please use the spray sanitizer after use.

Also, for those who want to be around less people, there is Communion under Special Circumstances at 11am, for a short 10 minute service. Please RSVP to Paula+ also.

See below for the Blessing of Pets at 12:30! Yay!!
With love and care,

To our Online Community
And finally - for all of you in our community who can't be in-person at this time, please know that you are still vitally important members of our church family. We are so very sorry that the situation means that many of you will need to continue worshiping remotely. We know that must hurt. We'll be continuing our full online worship well into the future, and of course please know you can contact Paula+ or Jude+ at any time if you need some support, or prayer, or just a chat!
Come to the Blessing of the Animals
This Sunday, 12:30 pm Outdoors at St. Francis
and you can also join us for fellowship – with or without a pet!!

Drive in with your pet, or a picture of a pet, and you will be directed to the lower parking lot and told to turn around and drive back up so that your pet or picture is available for blessing on the passenger side of the car by Paula+ and/or Jude+, and receive a pet goodie bag!

AND/OR – you can park in the lower lot and walk up to the arches to join us at carefully spaced tables for a bit of fellowship. You can bring your pet along or just yourself! Masks must be worn, covering mouth and nose, and hand sanitizer will be available.

The Spirit of our Patron Saint, St. Francis, will surely be in attendance!
Be together - 5 days a week, as well as Sundays.
Morning prayer twice-weekly, led by Paula+, and Compline three times per week, led by Jude+ and a team of lay leaders. Each service includes the traditional service, plus words from the leader, and explanations of the readings. They are prayerful and quiet, a far cry from the turmoil of the world, and medicine to help us heal and be comforted and inspired.

ISAIAH Zoom Bible Study,
This Coming Tuesday October 6th 7:00-8:30pm
Come join us for a discussion of the ‘Suffering Servant” In four ‘songs’ in Isaiah, 42:1-4; 49:1-6; 50:4-11 and 52:13 – 53:12. We will focus on this last one.

  • What does it mean to be a servant of God?
  • Do you believe that you are a servant of God?
  • Do you believe you were called before you were born?
  • How would you explain the difference between being a servant
  • and doing service?
  • How might the idea of a ‘suffering servant’ resonate with oppressed people?

Come join us. If this would be your first class, email me, Jude+ for the zoom link!
