THIS WEEK AT ST JOHN'S
LAST SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST:
THE REIGN OF CHRIST
Dear Friends

Thank you for your interest in St John the Evangelist Anglican Church.

This update includes our prayers, links to the Sunday worship video, and upcoming events. This week, we especially highlight our third Discovery Walk on Saturday, November 20. This week, we are exploring Bank Street, all the way from Somerset Street north to the Parliament Buildings, and south to the 417. Ideally, we would split up into two groups, and meet back at Somerset and Bank. The Tour Discovery Handout encourages us to walk with our eyes open and we look forward to sharing our findings when we return.

Welcome to St John's!

Please join us on Saturday, November 20 for our last Discovery Walk of the season. This walk is intended to help us notice what is going on in our community. Please see the Bank Street Discovery Walk attachment that will be the focus of our post-walk coffee visit.
Meet at the St John's Bell Tower to depart from St John's at 10 a.m.
Note: These Discovery Walks are an important form of social analysis as we prepare to reach out to our wider community. If you have missed previous walks, we look forward to repeating them in the spring.
Stewardship 2022 - Taking the Next Step Together

Can you make a step up? St John’s impacts the lives of people at the corner of Somerset and Elgin every day. By now you will have received your 2022 Stewardship package. Read how the Community Thrift Shop creates community and connection. Read how worship provides food for the soul and inspiration for the spirit. For 2022, we want to increase our donations revenue by 10% helping St John’s to continue being the living hands and hearts of God in the community beyond our doors.  Please complete your donor response cards, and we invite you to include your prayers for St John’s future. Send your cards in or bring them with you on our Sunday of Gratitude, November 28, when we will celebrate all our gifts at both the 8:00 am and 10:15 am services.

University Student Lunch
You're invited to come and meet other university and college students (and recently graduated students) for a time to visit and get to know each other. We will meet after the Sunday worship service and walk to Deacon Brodies to enjoy their lunch and the special discount for St John's. We hope meeting leads to eating leads to friends!
