BIDDING FAREWELL TO BETH+
As you will know from the letter from Bishop Shane as published in the Special Edition of TWSJ that was sent out last Saturday, Beth+ will be leaving St John's to become the Dean of Ottawa and Rector of Christ Church Cathedral as of September 1st. Her last day in the parish will be July 30th, as she will take vacation in August.

Small group, physically distanced opportunities for you to see Beth before she leaves and wish her well will be organized by the Wardens - watch this space for more info.

Please sign the virtual goodbye card, as below!

Beth would prefer not to receive a purse of money, but she has suggested two ways in which you are welcome to celebrate her ministry among us - by donating to the Ottawa Pastoral Counselling Centre and/or contributing to the gift of a cope. Please see below for more info.

If you require any further information, please be in touch with one of the Wardens, Detlef or Stephen.
VIRTUAL
GOODBYE CARD

Leaving a parish during this pandemic time means finding creative ways to bid farewell. Click here to leave your thoughts, memories, and well-wishes for Beth+.

CELEBRATING BETH'S MINISTRY
The Ottawa Pastoral Counselling Centre is one of our Diocesan Community Ministries. It offers counselling and psychotherapy services for individuals, couples and families. The Counselling Support Fund supports those in our community impacted by mental health issues who come without the financial resources to access mental healthcare. To make a donation in thanksgiving for Beth's ministry among us, click here.
There are many special services at the Cathedral, and as Dean, Beth will require a special processional vestment known as a cope. She has chosen this one from Bramante Studio in Kitchener. It will be known as the "St John's Cope" and Beth will think of us with great joy and thanksgiving each time she wears it! To donate towards this gift of a cope, click here, and put "Cope for Beth" in the message box.
Watch your mailbox - yes, your actual snail mail box -
as Beth+ will be sending the parish a farewell letter.
INTERIM MINISTRY AT ST JOHN'S
TWO WONDERFUL CLERGY!

From August 1st through September 13th, The Reverend Canon Rob Heard will be providing pastoral coverage and recording weekly video messages with Gordon. Some of you will remember Rob from his time as Interim Priest-in-Charge before Beth arrived.

From September 14th until such time as a new Incumbent is appointed, The Venerable Pat Johnston will serve as the Interim Priest-in-Charge. Over 35 years ago, Pat started ministry as a Curate at St John's, and she has lots of good memories of her time here. She is looking forward to being with you!
DIOCESAN COVID-19 PLAN
IN THIS TOGETHER

Recently authorized by our Bishop, please familiarize yourself with these documents:

St John's has a Pandemic Working Group, consisting of the Rector (or Priest-in-Charge), Wardens, Administrator, Director of Music, and two Parish Council Members. Over the next while, they will be working to prepare for safe reopening.
Bishop Shane has announced, that as long as conditions do not worsen,
we will move from RED to AMBER on September 1st.

Worship will begin again on Sunday, September 20th at St John's.
Archdeacon Pat will be assisting the Pandemic Working Group
to ensure the best and safest worship possible.

Watch this space for further information in September!
