OUR NEW BISHOP
Although we will not be able to gather at Christ Church Cathedral to celebrate with Bishop-Elect Shane Parker, the event will be live-streamed and available on the Diocesan website, the Diocesan Facebook page, and on YouTube.

Archbishop Anne Germond has written a lovely letter and offers this prayer:

Almighty God, the giver of all good gifts, in your divine providence you have appointed various orders in your church. Give your grace, we pray to Shane, called to the office of bishop in your Church, and so fill him with the truth of your doctrine and holiness of life that he may faithfully serve before you, to the glory of your great name and for the benefit of your holy Church. We ask you to bless the Diocese of Ottawa as they continue in their mission to enable people to know Jesus Christ and to live and share the Good News, grow in faith and serve God’s world. Keep them and their new bishop steadfast in faith and united in love, trusting in the promises of your Kingdom. Fill their hearts and minds with your grace and favour that their words and actions may embody Christ’s loving purpose in the world. We ask this through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

BE TOUCHED

This is a wonderful one-minute clip filmed in Glasgow, Scotland Full of wisdom and very brief. It's not a joke; it's not religious; it's not political. It's just special.

LISTEN AND LEARN

Anne Lamott is a bestselling American novelist and nonfiction writer on faith, prayer and more. She says ‘there’s something to be said about keeping prayer simple. Help. Thanks. Wow.’ It’s these three prayers – asking for assistance, appreciating the good and feeling awe – that get us through the day and show us the way forward.' Listen to Anne recount how she came to these insights and what they’ve meant to her over the years.
BE BLESSED

As the world has come together in a time of crisis, the church has united in prayer and worship to bless our communities around the world. The Church in Canada is beautiful, broad and diverse and it is a nearly impossible task to accurately represent the full breadth of true diversity within the church in Canada from coast to coast to coast. This unique project extended an invitation to churches in every province and territory and we are grateful for the nearly 200 individuals who responded and took part and participated. With one voice, this is our prayer over Canada.
PARISH FINANCIAL UPDATE
WHERE ARE WE AT?

First of all, THANK YOU! Your donations have continued to roll in and your generosity is deeply appreciated.

Since COVID-19, our revenue has decreased by approximately 40% due to loss of income from parking, rentals, The Shop, and Sunday morning visitor donations. Thanks to the Diocesan "Proposal to Use our Collective Strength", all our expenses for staff, clergy and diocesan support were covered for the months of April and May, which has helped us greatly. It is yet to be determined whether this will be further extended.

This week, work will begin on replacing the brick veneer on the exterior of the reconstructed wall. The anticipated cost is around $45,000.

If you are able to donate to the wall or just generally, please visit our website. Thank you for your ministry, your prayers, and all your support of St John's!
