Join us here at St John's for online worship this Sunday. Part one of the service will be on YouTube followed by part two on Zoom. Once the service is finished we will have our regular Sunday Coffee Hour.

RETURN TO IN-PERSON WORSHIP
September 12 at 8am & 10:15am
We are so excited to invite you back to the church building for worship next Sunday, September 12. We will return to the regular St John’s pattern of two Sunday services, 8:00am and 10:15am.
In order to offer these services, we need volunteers for many roles: greeters, readers, intercessors, servers, communion administrators. If you have participated in these roles in the past, we need you and we hope you will come back! Please let us know your availability by contacting Sherrie Dagg: sherrie@stjohnsottawa.ca

May I add, as one who has never attended a worship service in St John’s Church, I expect much will become clearer to us all in the doing. If there’s anything we aren’t sure how to handle, I’m confident we will figure it out together.

THE CENTERING PRAYER GROUP'S
SILENT RETREAT
September 10th & 11th at Galilee Centre
St John's Centering Prayer Group is planning to hold a Silent Retreat this coming Friday, September 10th from 1pm until Saturday, September 11th at 4pm. It will be held at the Galilee Centre in Arnprior. The Group would like to welcome anyone at St John's who would like to join in silent prayer, short discussions and blessed silence. The conference room has a limit of 30 people in order to respect the Covid restrictions. The cost, based on 10 people attending, is $146 (single) and $240 (double) which includes meals, transportation and conference room.

ST JOHN'S CHOIR RETURNS!
We have wonderful news to share! St John's Choir is returning this fall. The first rehearsal will take place on Thursday, September 9th at 7:30pm. Do you know someone who might like to join the choir? Now would be the perfect time to do a little scouting around and invite new people. The choir will be taking a few weeks to get back in vocal shape (which will be perfect for new members) and they plan to sing at services beginning the Sunday after Thanksgiving.

ONLINE WORSHIP CONTINUES
Over the summer we will continue to hold online worship. We are making plans to return to In-Person Worship on September 12, 2021. We will also endeavour to publish a weekly prayer video on our YouTube Channel for those parishioners who feel they are not ready to move to In-Person Worship.
Please join us each Sunday beginning on YouTube at 9:30am followed by the second part of our service and fellowship on Zoom. See the links above or visit our YouTube Channel to watch our services online.

THE SHOP IS OPEN!
The Shop is open with a large selection of clothing, household goods and specialty items! We are looking forward to helping you find what you are looking for, and surprising treasures you weren't looking for, in our wonderful community thrift shop. Beginning the week of September 6th our Hours of Operation are:
Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays: Noon - 4pm
Following provincial Covid-19 protocols, shoppers will be required to use masks and practice social distancing. A maximum of 7 customers will be allowed into The Shop at one time.
Thanks to donations from many people the Shop has a good selection of goods. If you have goods to donate they can be dropped off at the Shop during regular hours of operation. If you need a different time please email communityshop@stjohnsottawa.ca to arrange a drop-off time.

One of Cara's new projects is to help St John's inspire and engage our Church Community, the Community of Centretown, and the greater Ottawa Community. Our goal is to grow St John's' online presence in the hopes to attract new members and to build stronger relationships with people, organizations, and businesses within our community. And we also want to celebrate submissions from you, our parishioners!
For those of you who are new to social media, we recommend that you sign up for a facebook and/or instagram account and follow us by clicking the icons below. If you already have an account, please check our pages each day and "like" our posts!
The more "likes," "shares" and comments we receive, the more our posts will be shared with the wider community.
