A Scripture Conversation

In place of the sermon this Sunday, 11.20 (Christ the King), we will be offering a "Scripture Conversation" led by Angie Gordon, Margaret Thor, and Kate Maxwell. Each will offer their thoughts about the lessons of the day, and then the congregation will be encouraged to offer their own thoughts or questions. Father Art will moderate the conversation. If you want a jump on the conversation, the lessons are: Jeremiah 23:1-6, Colossians 1:11-20, and Luke 23:33-43.

Stands Before His People

Sunday, November 20th at 9 am.

STANDS BEFORE HIS PEOPLE is a history of the Ojibwe during the lifetime of Enmegahbowh from about 1814 to 1902, co-written by our very own Verne Pickering. Join us in the Parlor for a presentation on this Saint of the church. Books will be available for purchase.

Calling All St. John’s Christmas Crèche Nativity Sets!

During this year’s Advent season St. John’s would like to display in our Parish Hall shelves any and all Crèche Nativity sets.

We ask that you meet-up with Emily Waymire to check-in your Crèche Nativity sets in the Parish Hall on Sunday mornings Nov. 20, and 27 from 9-10:00 a.m. or call/text 651-270-0069 to make other arrangements.

Each Crèche Nativity set will be identified on its display shelf.

It is our Hope that Everyone will Enjoy sharing their Crèche Nativity sets during this Advent and Christmas season. All Crèche Nativity sets are to be loaned to St. John’s for display purposes only. We ask that all display Crèche Nativity sets be picked-up at the Parish Hall before the New Year begins. —As Tiny Tim says, “God Bless Us Everyone!”

Let's Communicate!

Some reminders and information from your Parish Coordinator!

  • The Weekly E-news deadline is every Wednesday by noon, for publication that Friday. Know that submitting something for the E-News does not guarantee  it will be in that Friday, and all material is subject to editing.
  • All meetings and gatherings should be on the public  and/or internal staff calendar! Invite or email [email protected] with all the details so we can make sure your space is reserved and ready, and we can let people know how much wonderfulness we have happening!
  • If you need a hybrid meeting, either on site or off campus, please contact Carrie so we can make sure everything is set!

Weekly News and a Weekly Message from Bishop Loya

The Episcopal Church in Minnesota also has a weekly e-news, where you can read a message from Bishop Craig Loya, (or sometimes a special guest author), and read about what is happening in the Episcopal Church in MN and beyond! A great way to stay connected and learn about our church outside the walls of St. John's.

The Collect

Almighty and everlasting God, whose will it is to restore all things in your well-beloved Son, the King of kings and Lord of lords: Mercifully grant that the peoples of the earth, divided and enslaved by sin, may be freed and brought together under his most gracious rule; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Our current Health & Safety Protocols

  • St. John’s encourages all of its members to get vaccinated and boosted as soon as possible.
  • If one feels sick or has the typical symptoms of Covid-19, we ask you to worship with us online.
  • Masks are optional while inside all parish buildings for those who are boosted and vaccinated. For those who are unvaccinated and for your own protection, we recommend that you worship with us online or that you continue to wear your mask while inside our buildings. If conditions change and we experience another surge of Covid-19, we may have to alter our protocols and ask our members and guests to wear masks once again.
  • While seated in the Church or in the Parish Hall, we recommend that all maintain an appropriate physical distance from those outside of your household.
