We welcome, as our guest Presider and Preacher, Commander (ret’d) the Very Reverend Baxter Park, Dean Emeritus,the Diocese of Western Newfoundland, 
and retired Royal Canadian Navy Command Chaplain. 

As a member of a founding family of the Qalipu Mi’kmaq First Nation in Newfoundland, and adopted member of the Raven Clan of the Haidia First Nation, Baxter served as Indigenous Affairs advisor for three Chaplains General, and as their representative to the Defence Aboriginal Advisory Group. He also served on the Eco-justice Committee of our National Church and as a member of the Council of General Synod.

This Summer Service schedule will continue through August and September 2nd.

Pastoral Care
Steering Group
In response to the priorities established by the Rector in her charge to vestry, and in keeping with the objectives outlined in our parish strategy “Creating an Abundant Future”, the Parish Council has created a “Pastoral Care Steering Group” to examine and make recommendations concerning the evolving shape of this vital area of ministry in our parish. We uphold them in their efforts, and look forward to the outcomes of their work.

Basic Training Program
Fall 2018
Each spring and fall the Ottawa Pastoral Care Training Program (OPCTP) offers a Basic Course in Pastoral Care that consists of 25 hours of training, offered in afternoon or evening sessions each week, for 10 weeks.

The next Basic Training Course begins on Monday, September 17, 2018 and runs for 10 weeks (excluding Thanksgiving Monday) until November 26.

The Parish of St Bernard at St Alban’s Church

The French language Anglican Parish of St. Bernard de Claivaux has recently relocated to St. Alban’s Church, 424 King Edward Street Ottawa. St Bernard’s is a contemporary, inclusive and progressive community that gathers for worship at 11:50 a.m. each Sunday for a French language communion liturgy that begins at noon.

Please keep this newly located, French language Anglican parish in your prayers, and consider joining them some Sunday for worship.

MHI Grand Opening of "The Haven"

The Haven Grand Opening will go ahead rain or shine. Highlights include; a free BBQ lunch, guided tours of the Haven (first tour starts 3:15 pm) and fun activities for children. All are welcome and no RSVP is required. When we say "all are welcome," we mean it – whether you're a tenant at the Haven, a volunteer, or just a member of the community who wants to learn more about MHI, this event is for you!

Centering Prayer

The Centering Prayer group's final meeting before the summer break will be on June 25 at 4:30 pm.


We will begin meeting again in the fall, starting on Monday, September 11 at 4:30.
