Let The Bells Ring Out!

Join us as we ring out the bells of peace in Centretown. At 4.45 pm, meet Beth+ in the Narthex to ring our bell 100 times   t o mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War One.

Have you always wanted to ring the bell at St John's? Many bell ringers will be needed - no experience necessary! We'll have a basket ready so that any bell ringers so moved can make a donation towards The Anglican Military Ordinariate Bishop's Trust Fund to support Military Chaplains serving around the world today.

Needlepoint now in
St Joanna's Stall

Our own Rector Beth+ is the current Canon of St Joanna and beautiful new cushions for the stalls were dedicated at the Cathedral last week.

Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund Christmas Cards will be on sale at coffee time on Sundays after the 10.15 service. A donation of $20 or more per package is suggested to support the important work of PWRDF.

You can get the best calendar deal in town for $5, on sale in the hall following the 10.15 am service!

Canadian Food Grains Bank
The “I Care” campaign encourages the Canadian government to increase its International Development Assistance (AID) budget to developing countries. You can support this effort by signing an “I Care” postcard available at coffee time after the 10.15 service.

Construction Begins Again!
On Monday workers will begin to build our new ramp inside the church, replace the temporary wall and door between the church and the hall, and replace the panelling and refurbish the arches and walls after the repairs.

A fundraiser lunch for the Ottawa Pastoral Counselling Centre, one of our five Diocesan Community Ministries. All proceeds will be directed to the Counselling Support Fund which is used to help offset the cost of fee-for-counselling services to make mental health resources accessible to everyone in need. Tickets are $20 (tax receipts available). Redeem your ticket for a soup bowl/mug of your choice to keep, and enjoy a delicious soup with sides, and dessert, and support the Counselling Support Fund.
Interfaith Study Wednesdays at St John's

This four week study includes guest speakers, video clips, readings and discussions when we can learn about beliefs that all Muslims share. National Housing Day
Sunday, November 18th – 2 to 4.30 pm
Ottawa City Hall

Multifaith Housing Initiative will host their National Housing Day celebration at Ottawa City Hall. All are welcome to join leaders from faith groups as they celebrate progress made toward a common goal: ending homelessness in our city. Prayer Service at 2 pm in the Champlain Room followed by a reception at 3.15 pm.
