THIS WEEK AT ..................

St. Pete First UMC

Hi Kelly—

One of the things I love about attending Annual Conference is the session with my clergy brothers and sisters. It's a time for us to "go about the business of the church" but also to be reminded of our connection with one another. Through the years I have had the awesome privilege to serve with so many men and women who have lived into their call by God to be pastors. Each one of them brings something special to the church they serve as well as the universal church.

The part I cherish most is when we all join in to sing an opening hymn of our clergy session. Hundreds of voices all in unison (and unlike your pastor, they sing on key!).

What a wonderful church we have indeed!

Pastor Bob

Looking ahead... June 22, the Sunday after VBS, is Children & Youth Sunday, where our children & youth participate in the service. Don't miss this service where we celebrate the young people of our church! We will have one service on June 22, at 10 am.

This week is the fourth week of our sermon series Forgotten Virtues. What is a virtue? Better yet, are we living in a time when virtues are even relevant? This series will address how to bring back the virtues that are so important to our lives and faith. What are these virtues? Honor, Purity, Loyalty, Integrity and Gratitude.

Pastor Bob's sermon title this week is "Integrity." Being a person of integrity is in the DNA of being a follower of Jesus. It’s when you walk the walk versus talk the talk. Integrity is measured by how your behavior matches your beliefs. Does being a follower of Jesus influence that?

The text for this week is 1 Samuel 12:3-4 NLT.
