Hi Kelly—

What a great week we had on our campus as we hosted over one hundred children plus adult volunteers with our Vacation Bible School. I can tell you firsthand it was an action-packed week and the children were given many opportunities to come away with new experiences in their faith. It was a week filled with music, dancing, making new friendships, and basking in the love of God. I am especially appreciative of our adult and youth volunteers who gave up valuable summertime to come share their skills and love for the kids.

What an awesome church we have, and one who truly is making a difference as we continue to show our community we truly are the Heart of the City!

Tomorrow (June 22) is Children & Youth Sunday, where our children & youth participate in the service. Don't miss this service where we celebrate the young people of our church! We will have one service on June 22, at 10 am.

Sunday, July 6 is Bluegrass Sunday. Come to church and enjoy (and sing along with) the South Porch Bluegrass Orchestra at the 9:30 & 11 am services (NO 8 am SERVICE), then join us for a Lunch Reception at noon to meet and welcome our two new pastors as they begin their ministries at St Pete First. Rev. Elyse Nielsen is our new Associate Pastor, and Rev. Carey Taylor is our new Pastor of Community Life.

Volunteer Help Needed

A little time out of your week can make such a difference! Join us as we strive to be the hands and feet of Jesus as we serve and Love. St. Pete.

Are you looking for a way to care for others? Consider signing up for our Hearts & Hands Meal Train volunteer list! When individuals or families within our congregation have a new baby, surgery, illnesses or times of grief, this ministry cares for them by preparing or ordering and dropping off meals. Volunteers will receive an email when a new meal train is created and will have the opportunity to sign up for dates to provide food (no need to provide food each time - only when you are able to). Email kbennett@stpetefirst.org to be added to the list.

Every person has the power to save a life. Donating blood only takes a little of your time, and it can mean a lifetime for patients in need. Bluegrass Sunday (Sunday, July 6; 9:30 & 11 am - no 8 am service)

Sunday, July 6 is Bluegrass Sunday. Come to church and enjoy (and sing along with) the South Porch Bluegrass Orchestra at the 9:30 & 11 am services, then stay for the reception after the 11 am service to celebrate our new pastors.

Summer Organ Concert (Monday, July 21; 2 pm)

Bring your family and friends on Monday, July 21 at 2 pm to listen and sing along to favorite songs as organist Rick Nay (with guests) beautifully showcases our magnificent new organ amid our beautiful stained glass windows. This is an outreach event for our community. We NEED VOLUNTEERS to come at 1 pm to help welcome and assist our guests from nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Refreshments will be served after the concert. Please bring a baked (non-refrigerated) treat to share. For those unable to attend in-person, the concert will be livestreamed and recorded.
