St. Pete First UMC

This Week at St. Pete First

Dear Friend,

This week, we loved on our teachers and preschool as we celebrated Teacher Recognition Week. I’m so proud of our preschool and all the great work they do in our community. Through the leadership of Alicia Clements and Terri Jelks, the mission of loving children and giving them a great education is accomplished.

One of my favorite things is to walk through the preschool, lead chapel once a month, and see the smiling faces of all the children. That joy comes from the wonderful homes in which they are raised, along with the love, kindness, and patience of all our teachers and aides. I am truly grateful for all that they do.

If you have a child in our preschool, take time to love on their teacher and let them know what a great job they’re doing.

See you Sunday,

Pastor Bob

This Sunday at St. Pete First

When Jesus emerged, something was different. Jesus brought about a message that called for something more than a superficial change in life, but one that cut to the core. Jesus called us to be transformed into “new creatures.” Instead of focusing on the boundaries, Jesus focused on the “center”—the heart of spiritual life. When asked to identify what the law was all about, Jesus’ response was simply, “Love God and love people.”

Help Us Reflect on Our Neighboring Initiative

As our Neighboring Initiative comes to a close, we’d love to hear from you. Have you taken a step toward connecting with your neighbors? Tried something new? Been surprised along the way?

Your experience matters and will help us continue living into our mission to Love St. Pete.

— Rev. Carey Taylor, Pastor of Community Life
