St. Pete ranks top city in Florida for immigrant integration
A newly released National Integration Index from New American Economy , a bipartisan research and advocacy organization, singles out St. Petersburg as the top-ranked city in Florida, and No. 13 nationwide, for promoting the economic well-being of immigrants.

More than 27,000 immigrants account for 11 percent of the St. Petersburg’s population, according to the report. "There is no denying the data. Immigrants power our economy, and we are strong because of them," said Mayor Rick Kriseman.

John Hopkins' $95M Research and Education Building celebrates ribbon cutting
The 230,0000 sf center is southeast of All Children's Hospital at 5th St S and 6th Ave S. with USF Health to the east and Bayfront Health St. Petersburg to the west. The new building will be a "game changer" as it becomes the cornerstone for the Innovation District in St. Petersburg.

Relief for Small Businesses impacted by Red Tide
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced the availability of Economic Injury Disaster Loans for businesses in Pinellas County impacted by Red Tide. 

New St. Pete Pier Updates

The latest construction update revealed that vertical construction on the pier will begin in October. All 426 pilings to support the structure have been placed and over 75 percent of the pier deck has been poured.

Major tenants for the pier include Tampa Bay Watch, which will operate the marine education center; Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grille; Teak Inc., which will bring restaurant, bar and cafe concepts; and United Park Services, which will manage the spa pavilion, bait shop and gift shop.
SURVEY: Tampa Bay Transportation 2045 Planning
It’s TIME Tampa Bay  is a collaboration of the metropolitan planning organizations (MPOs) of Pinellas, Hillsborough , and Pasco Counties. The region will jointly put forward a 2045 transportation plan to take advantage of federal and state funding.

By completing the survey before September 30th and leaving your email address, you’ll be eligible for drawings for pairs of tickets to Lightning, Bucs or the arts! Seven drawings will be held during the October 2, 9:00am Hillsborough MPO Board Meeting.

Completion of structural building phase marks major milestone for the Related Group's Icon Central

St. Pete startup Intrinio selected for Fintech U.S. 2018 development program
Fintech (or financial technology) is an emerging sector of the economy focused on innovating the way personal and commercial finance works. Fintech is included as one of the five Grow Smarter target sectors for growth in St. Petersburg.

This week, Rachel Carpenter, co-founder of Intrinio, announced that she'll be joining the first in a series of three workshops comprising the Capital Village Fintech US 2018 development Program.
