Once again in today’s gospel the Pharisees are trying to trip up Jesus. If Jesus supports the paying of the tax, his Jewish siblings who are rebelling against the Roman occupation will shun him. If Jesus says it’s unlawful to pay the tax, he’ll be in trouble with the Roman authorities. What does Jesus do? He asks them to look at the coin. It is a Roman coin. Pay the tax – meaning give the Emperor back his own coin! Then Jesus adds that wonderful line — give to God the things that are God’s. Read More

We welcomed 8 people to the 10:30 a.m. service on October 4. We are going to continue to have you reserve your space at that service using Eventbrite. 

The one big difference this week:
  • Entrance will be through the Front Doors of the Church.
  • Temperature Check and Contact Tracing will be in place. 
  • Wear Your Mask and Join us for Worship at St. Richard's!

We will be using our pre-packaged communion sets to distribute communion at 10:30 a.m. Please visit the Eventbrite site to let us know you are coming!

A little Halloween Fun!

Parents and Children! You are invited to Drive Through in a Safe Costume Parade and get Treats from the people of St. Richard's! We will have decorated Trunks in the Parking Lot all handing out safely packaged treats to your children. While we cannot safely have the games and costume contest that have been fun in previous years we can still have Halloween fun!

St. Richard's Community: Sign up to come with your decorated trunk and make Halloween special for the children of St. Richard's and the Tanglewood Community. Come to the St. Richard's Parking lot by 5:00 p.m. October 25, Decorate your trunk and bring candy or treat bags that you can offer in a basket or on a tray for children to take with them from their car windows. Contact rector@strichards.org or call 407-671-4211 to sign up .
All Saints' Day
All Saints Day Slide Show Celebration of those we love but see no longer. It is the tradition at St. Richard's to invite you to bring photos of deceased loved ones to be on display in the church for Worship on All Saints Sunday. This year, please send your photos to rector@strichards.org so that we can assemble a slide show to commemorate the dead and celebrate our eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

In-Person Worship Rite I
Sunday, October 18, 2020, 8:00 a.m. Outside in the Memorial Garden or Breezeway

Holy Eucharist Rite I with an abbreviated sermon. Communion will be distributed using a wafer and wine combination pre-packaged chalice that is recyclable. The expectations from all who feel safe attending in-person are:

  • Masks will be worn at all times
  • Bring your own chair and maintain a safe physical distance of 6 feet between people of different family groups. 

The 10:30 a.m. Live Stream will continue for all those who do not feel comfortable coming in-person. Remember the safest form of worship is still online.
