Special Update From Your Pastoral Associate Patti Walter
I am pleased to inform you that I have now entered the rehabilitation phase of my treatment. I am working with the therapists at Spalding Rehab right here at Presbyterian St. Luke's Hospital. I am engaged in various therapies for 3 hours each day, with much needed rest breaks throughout. How grateful I am to be progressing through the fine care of the medical staff here and through your faithful prayers and care. I am scheduled to be discharged on August 1st and will return home where I will receive home health care. I long to rejoin you in the mission and ministry of St. Barnabas when the time is right!
Together with you, Patti.

Calling All Current Choir Members, The Curious, and Interested Singers! Pick-up Choir Opportunity
On Sunday, July 27 we’ll have a pick-up choir opportunity for our Sunday service. This would be great for former members who want a chance to sing with us once, current choir members to gather together during our off-season, and for curious singers to see how our rehearsals go. All you need to do is show up at 8:45 AM on July 27, and I’ll lead you through a gentle, fun rehearsal, and we’ll sing a song during the offertory! NO music reading required!

"Under the Oak" Book Discussion
Sunday, August 10 at 8:15
Books Available after Worship This Sunday
Claire and Beth Trautman will lead a discussion on The Serviceberry by Robin Wall Kimmerer.
As Indigenous scientist and author of Braiding Sweetgrass Robin Wall Kimmerer harvests serviceberries alongside the birds, she considers the ethic of reciprocity that lies at the heart of the gift economy. How, she asks, can we learn from Indigenous wisdom and the plant world to reimagine what we value most? Our economy is rooted in scarcity, competition, and the hoarding of resources, and we have surrendered our values to a system that actively harms what we love. Meanwhile, the serviceberry’s relationship with the natural world is an embodiment of reciprocity, interconnectedness, and gratitude. Pick up a copy after service for $10

July Giving-2-Others
Metro Caring- Ending Hunger at Its Root
Metro Caring, a nonprofit located on Capitol Hill in Denver, works with our local community to meet people’s immediate needs for nutritious and culturally relevant food while building a movement to address the root causes of hunger. Nearly one in three Coloradans faces hunger - not always having enough money to buy food. The St. Barnabas Outreach Committee invites our congregation to help nourish our neighbors by 1) giving a monetary gift earmarked for Giving 2 Others, and/or 2) bringing food or toiletries and placing them at the altar on Sundays through Metro Caring’s Loaves and Fishes ingathering. Metro Caring serves 56,000 people a year. In 2024, Metro Caring distributed $7.8 million worth of food. For more information click here.
For a list of items to donate, click here. Place your items in front of the altar on Sunday during July.
To donate online, click here or earmark a check to St. Barnabas for “Giving-2-Others” and place it in the offering plate, the office, or mail it in.
Your generosity is greatly appreciated!

Say No to Concentration Camps in Colorado
The Trump Regime is proposing 6 immigration concentration camps in CO. One is in Walsenburg, CO. This is what Walsenburg Mayor Gary Vezzani had to say about it: "If they use it for ICE or they use it for a prison or use it for whatever...we really don't care as a city. We may as well take advantage..."This kind of collaborating, inhuman, immoral, money-only attitude is completely unacceptable.. To take action click here.

A Heartfelt Thank You
From Your Organist Ronda Hilton
Thank you, St. Barnabas parishioners, for your kind messages in the get-well card Irene Shepard mailed last week. Special thanks to Dr. Stan Siefer who patiently coached me through the process of finding a wrist specialist. I knew we found the right one when the surgeon wrote "ORGANIST" on the front of my chart!
Thanks so much for all your prayers and support,
Ronda
