St. James Kids

@Home edition
There is a lot going on in the world right now. There is a lot going on in my head and heart right now too.

I want to see my extended family and friends and feel like everything is back to normal again, but I know that things aren’t normal and may not be for a while.

I want to pray for the people who are sick. I ask that you give them peace and healing for their bodies.

Lord, bless all of the people for whom life is very different: families, students, teachers, facility, parents, healthcare workers, law enforcement, restaurateurs & gig workers.

May you protect us and help us to make wise choices.

May you help us to be still get quality time with you, Lord, in with so much changing around us, help us remember you are our tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation.

Please help us to grow stronger and better together and not feel so divided.
God, I ask for peace for my soul. I ask for peace for the souls of my family. I ask for peace in the souls of all parents, children and neighbors of St. James Kids.

You are a good God who I know loves me and my family and my friends so much.

God I love you too.

I ask that you be in my heart and my actions.

Bless this season of our life and show us how to make your love real to others.

In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
DECEMBER THEME
Christmas can be filled with all sorts of emotions. Some people easily experience the joy of the season. Some rest in the hope that God is making all things new. But others struggle to find peace due to life’s circumstances. With all that’s going on this time of year, we thought it’d be great to go back to the basics and simply celebrate Christmas.

The truth is Jesus is best gift God ever gave. Jesus was proof that God loves us and we can trust God no matter what. Because of Jesus, it’s possible for us to have a relationship with God that will last forever. As we remember the Christmas story, we take time to celebrate the greatest gift the world has ever known and rediscover, joy and hope and peace as we rest in the unconditional love of God.

As things develop, stay tuned to our SM channels, as we look to reinvent how we do ministry in these uncertain times:

We will be closely monitoring developments and will be making additional adjustments as advised or needed. Please be in prayer for our world and church community.

Message me, should you need anything. I'll send more stuff out next week!

Each Tween Time is limited to 25 people - 22 kids & 3 Adults - and will be 35 minutes in length. Masks are required the entire time you're in the building, and you must preregister to attend. The registration link will go out each Monday in the Children's email, so be looking for that on the 21st.
The Parent Cue App cues you to have simple and meaningful faith-moments with your kid that will fit seamlessly into the daily rhythm of your life.
The secret to being the parent you want to be is to pay attention to your daily and weekly rhythm. Chances are, your family has a rhythm that’s entirely your own. Maybe you sing in the morning. Maybe no one speaks before 11am. Every family is unique! Each week, the parent cue app will send “cues” to help you make the most of some of your typical family moments: Like morning time, drive time, meal time, or bedtime. It’s okay if one of these times isn’t a good fit for you. Simply use whatever works in your family routine, and then use it . . . routinely.

Christmas Adoption Update
Y'all are amazing! Many healthcare providers didn't get to spend much time at home this thanksgiving. I'm sure they are growing wearier each family moment the miss. They are gonna be so surprised when the find out how much you guys care!

In one week we have already filled half of our goal!!

Now we need to take care of the Night Shift. And we can never have enough prayers, letters, cards, pictures or other sentiments of encouragement. We'll collect them all week at St. James Entrance 1, and send them out on Fridays, unless we have enough to send with each delivery, which would be awesome!

We are starting deliveries this week. We have the following scheduled:

Tuesday, 11/29 -- (Day shift) Assorted Snacks (Night Shift) TBD
Thursday, 12/3 -- (Day Shift) Jimmy's Serious Sandwiches Box Lunch (Night Shift) TBD
Friday, 12/4 -- (Day & Night Shift) -- Goodie Bag

In just a couple clicks on Amazon you could send us 5LBs of chocolate for like $30. (I hear chocolate is big with the nurses.) If you are moved to help and are short on ideas, contact me, or read below for some ideas. You can always send us a check and we'll put it to good use, make sure it has Kids/UAMS in the memo. No amount of help is too little. All is appreciated.

Thanks again for your generosity & encouragement, you'd definitely be suprised how moved these guys are.
We are here for you and with you.

Peace be with you!
