MHAO Is Here To Serve You!

Morgan clubs in the Western Region are disappearing. They play an important part in the preservation and promotion of the Morgan breed. They also help us have a sense of community and to find ways to help each other. MHAO is here to serve you. How can you support MHAO and its efforts?

First, be a current member of MHAO. If not already a member, please join now! MHAO is one of the most active clubs in the Western Region. By being a member you are helping us to offer our support to our members and the breed.

Follow the instructions on the Form. Make your check out to MHAO, or call Karen Breckenridge to pay your membership fee by credit card. An individual membership is $30 (one vote). A family membership is $35 (two votes).

Rising costs are putting pressure not only on the association, but on all of us. People are having to put in more hours of work just to get by. On top of that, a lot of our long time members are retiring while fewer and fewer families are looking to horses as a family activity to get their kids involved in. If we want our way of life to continue, we each need to do all we can to support the remaining local clubs and their efforts to draw in new members.

Being a member is important, but there are several ways to go beyond that. Step forward as a volunteer. Find a way to be more involved. By volunteering you are helping us to spread the load. Many hands make for lighter work loads for all involved. We are all volunteers with a life of our own to live.

Another way to support MHAO is to advertise any products or services you offer thru MHAO venues. Rates are very reasonable, and we want to encourage inner trade between members. Below you will see more information on your advertising options. Remember, classified ads are free in the Stable Sheet newsletter or on our website.

You can also become a sponsor of one of our programs or of classes & activities at the annual Oregon Morgan Classic Horse Show put on by MHAO. Sponsorship of our various club programs is customized. Call Gay Adams to discuss your ideas. Sponsorship packages for the Oregon Morgan Classic are detailed on the following links. Contact Karen Breckenridge to discuss them. Along with the packages offered, we can customize something for you. Everything helps. Karen can be reached at wylieriley@aol.com or (503) 580-4716.

If you love the Morgan horse, we need you to be involved and connected with us. You don't need to own a horse or be a resident in Oregon. We are all stronger together. And even if we don't do a lot, we all need to do something if we want Morgan horses and the Morgan community to continue to be a part of our world.

Check out the MHAO website to see all the programs we offer.

Donations Needed For The

OMC Silent Auction

This is another way to support our show, and it's fun, too!

The Morgan Horse Association of Oregon is once again holding the ever-popular Silent Auction at the Oregon Morgan Classic horse show held June 12th to June 15th in Eugene, OR. We are asking for donations of new and VERY GENTLY used items to be included in this years auction with an estimated value of $25 or more. We would gladly accept any gift cards, “interactive experiences”, farm tours, lessons with a favorite trainer etc. as well. We do ask that if you are donating any clothing or tack, that it be in good useable condition and clean. A portion of the proceeds may be used to supplement the Alex Mooney Scholarship Fund as well as other programs in MHAO.

If you have items you would like to donate, please contact Kim Moore now. Let her know what you will bring so she can prepare the bid sheets before the show. Send a description & a picture and an estimated value! The sooner the better. It will be showtime before we know it.

Our coordinator for the Silent Auction this year is Kim Moore.

The Count Down Is On!

Close Date is June 1st

Each year in June we publish a Futurity Booklet to highlight our Futurity horses and the Stallions whose services were donated to our Stallion Service Auction. It is a promotional magazine that we distribute at the three largest Morgan shows in the Western Region (Oregon Morgan Classic Horse Show, the Morgan Medallion Regional Horse Show, the C-Fair Regional), at Nationals, the Superior Morgan Horse Sale, and at promotional or club events put on by MHAO. Your advertising fees are kept low with proceeds used to cover our printing costs. We will print as many booklets as our sold advertising will cover.

Advertise your barn, business, services, horses for sale, anything you like. You will reach a very concentrated Equine market while supporting the MHAO Breeders' Cup Futurity and Stallion Service Auction.

MHAO offers the only Stallion Service Auction and the only remaining Futurity in the Western Region.

You will be reaching a very concentrated Equine market and be supporting the promotion of the Morgan breed and our Morgan breeders.
