Lease opportunity.

PBP Princess Love A Lee, 2007 Bay Mare, 14.3H (Rum Brook Immortal Prince x ATMF Love Lee Lady). Bella should be enjoyed more than I can give her right now.

Trained and shown by Jean Sauer, Rogue Hill Morgans in Pleasure Driving and was started western when I purchased her in 2013.

In 2021 Bella was leased and ridden in lessons, practice/conditioning hunt seat by 16 yo. girl. Ground covering, go forward walk, athletic extended trot, collected and extended canter/lope gaits which I want to retain. A lead horse, not a follower. I would like her to be trained for neck reining.

Lease duration, disciplines TBD. I will be engaged throughout the lease and her advocate; not disruptive.

1978 through 1980, I leased Morgan horses for my Jr. Exhibitor 14-17 competition years under the direction of Sue Woodson.

This is a very special mare to me! I will not be selling her and 'may' want to breed her in spring/summer 2023 (negotiable).

Free:  Breeding phantom, like new condition.  THINK: 2023 breeding season simplified.

If you have a stallion and are shipping semen (or would like to), you may want to collect at your farm instead of having the expense of hauling him to a veterinarian or reproduction facility.  This phantom was purchased in like new condition, and has never been used by us (maybe not by anyone), it has always been kept under cover and is in excellent condition.  Check online for prices to buy a phantom and then what shipping would be.  (They are heavy suckers!)

This one is free, and we will help load it into your pickup!  Photos available upon request.

A temporary delay is in place.

Now delayed, & targeted toward the 2026 election

2024 Application

Deadline to apply is November 30, 2023 (5 p.m. Eastern).

The van Schaik Dressage Scholarship

Throughout his life, Dr. H.L.M. van Schaik fought to preserve the classical art of Horsemanship in dressage. To van Schaik, this meant utilizing gentleness, psychology and the horse’s innate qualities to develop a horse that is useful, willing and correct in his work.

To preserve and encourage the classical methods van Schaik so strongly believed in, the American Morgan Horse Educational Charitable Trust (AMHECT) shall make an award of $1,000 to a Morgan individual wishing to further his or her skill, knowledge or proficiency in classically ridden dressage.

In selecting a candidate for this scholarship, emphasis will be placed on helping a rider move from the lower levels of dressage to fourth level and above. Preference will be given to applicants who have competed their Morgan(s) at First Level Test 3 or above and received a 60 percent or higher score at a recognized competition.

The scholarship must be used to further the training and education of the applicant and their Morgan(s). Eligible expenses include instruction, travel and living expenses directly related to receiving instruction, instructional materials, etc. Following selection, the successful applicant must attest that he/she will continue to pursue dressage training on a Morgan for the duration of the scholarship.

Previous van Schaik Dressage Scholarship winners are not eligible.

Applicant must be a current competing AMHA member.

Applications should be assembled in the following order:

1. Application Cover Sheet

2. Narrative (up to 5 pages)

3. Two (2) written letters of reference

4. Up to one page of photo(s) is optional

Deadline: November 30. Applicants must submit a fresh application package each year to be considered.

Incomplete applications will not be considered.

The Ellen DiBella Western Dressage Scholarship honors the founder of Western Dressage, Ellen DiBella, for her years of service to all things Morgan and especially her support in the creation of the WDAA (Western Dressage Association of America).

Western Dressage seeks to improve balance, cadence, and carriage of both horse and rider. By combining the disciplines of dressage with the philosophies of western riding, Western Dressage seeks to improve our partnership with our horse. The goal is a happier, more sound horse, and a more aware and knowledgeable rider. Achieving these goals is a journey of technique, learning, growth, practice, and patience. To help Western Dressage Morgan riders, this scholarship hopes to allow riders to advance in their skills once they are well into the first level.

To preserve and encourage the classical methods as applied to the Western discipline that Ellen DiBella strongly believes in, the American Morgan Horse Educational and Charitable Trust shall make an award of up to $1000 to a Morgan individual wishing to further his or her skill, knowledge, or proficiency in ridden Western Dressage utilizing Morgan horses.

In selecting a candidate for this scholarship, emphasis will be placed on helping a rider move from the lower levels of dressage through fifth level. Preference will be given to applicants who have competed their Morgan(s) at first level or above and received a 60 percent or higher score at a recognized competition.

The scholarship must be used to further the training and education of the applicant and their Morgan(s). Eligible expenses include instruction, travel and living expenses directly related to receiving instruction, instructional materials, etc. Following selection, the successful applicant must attest that he/she will continue to pursue Western Dressage training on a Morgan for the duration of the scholarship.

Previous Ellen DiBella Western Dressage Scholarship winners are not eligible.

Applicant must be a current competing AMHA member and the Morgans must be shown under their registered names.

Applications should be assembled in the following order:

1. Application Cover Sheet

2. Narrative (up to 5 pages)

3. Two (2) written letters of reference

4. Up to one page of photo(s) {Optional}

The Elberta Honstein Memorial Grant has been retired (2023).  Beginning in 2017, it was offered to all AMHA members under the age of 21 to further their equine education, skills, or proficiency, and/or their academic education.

Elberta-Honstein and Roy-El Morgan Farm have a rich and long history with the Morgan breed. Roy-El Morgan Farm was founded in the early 1960′s by Roy and Elberta Honstein. They passed on their love of Morgans to their daughter, Debbie, and then to Debbie’s daughters, Elberta Seybold and Eriene Seybold-Smythe.

Thank you to the family and friends of Elberta Honstein for making this grant available. It has made a difference in the lives of the exceptional (and appreciative) young members listed below. We will always remember Ms. Honstein.
